I love whatever Georgette Heyer wrote but I think this is not one of her best mysteries.
It seems to be more a comedy of manners than a mystery.
The focus is on the different characters and inspector Hannasyde just appears from time to time.
The pace is gentle, sometimes a bit slow, but there are a lot of funny bunters.
The cast of characters is quirky and interesting but not always likable.
It was interesting to read this book and I recommend it to fan of Georgette Heyer.

Not my usual type of mystery, darker and more claustrophobic than those I usually read.
I think this book aged well and it's very modern, with a style of writing and a plot that differs from the classic whodunnit.
It's interesting, engaging and well written.
The characters are not very likable but are well written and fleshed out.
The plot was engaging and keep you guessing till the end.

Molto interessante, a metà strada tra un romanzo ed un saggio. Alcune parti sono un po' lunghe e noiose ma è decisamente un bel saggio sul potere dell'inconscio e cosa condizioni la nostra vita

The first book in this series was exciting and engaging, a great start for a new urban fantasy series.
This means I had high expectations when I started this one and it exceeded my expectations.
It's enganing, exciting and you cannot put it down.
I liked the development of the characters, the twists and turns in the plot, and the style of writing.
The world building was amazing and improved.
I look forward to reading the next instalment because I must know what comes next.

I'm happy that this is the second installment in a series because it means there's another book I can read.
I found this book enthralling and entertaining, a very good historical mystery.
The cast of characters is well written and fleshed out, you cannot help liking them because they're so human with all their faults.
The plot is engaging, full of twists and turns, it never bores and keeps you guessing till the end.
i liked the well researched historical background, so dark and realistic.
i look forward to reading the next installment in this series.
