This is a good book and a good debut.
It's an epic fantasy, full of twists and turns, fast paced and well written.
The world building if good, the cast of characters interesting and the plot was engaging and fascinating.
I look forward to reading the next installment in this series.

It's a good mix of historical and fictional characters, all well written and interesting.
The plot is good, it never bores, and keep you reading until the last page.
I will surely look for other books by this author.

A good, solid police procedural and the discovery of a new good series.
It's the first one I read in this series and was really happy to have read it.
It was engaging and entertaining, a well written and with likable cast of characters.
The mystery was good, no plot hole, and it keep you guessing till the end.
I look forward to reading another installment in this series.

I liked the cast of characters and the setting.
The plot was good, no big plot hole, and it keep you guessing.
This is the second installment in this series but I had no problems in understanding the plot and the characters.

This is a funny and laugh out loud book, full of dark humour and political satire.
I'm happy the writer decided to write another book with Allan as main character.
The book made me laugh loud more than once and it's a great political satirical novel.
I hope it will be as successful as the first one.

I'm in two minds about this book: on one side I liked the style of writing, on the other side I found it a bit "too much".
Too much events, too many cliches and too much sentiment.
I'd have been a great book if it was a bit less sentimental and with less cliches.
There's a lot of potential and I think the author will become a very good writer.
Unfortunately this book wasn't my cup of tea.

I'm in two minds about this book: on one side it's a well written, full of interesting topics like gentrification and social classes, on the other side it should be a mystery but that's the weakest part.
It was interesting even if a bit slow.
I think it can be appreciated by people interested in social issues.
