I requested this ARC as I love John Cleese work and all my expectations were met.
It's full of insight and food for thought but there's a lot of the typical humour you expect from a Monthy Python member.
I loved and strongly recommend it.

This could have been a very entertaining cozy or a good thriller. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in any of these categories and sometimes it doesn't deliver.
As I'm a fan of cozIes I'd have really appreciated it was lighter.
There's potential but it'd better to have clearer view of what type of book one has in mind.
Unfortunately it was not my cup of tea.

I love Viveca Sten's mysteries and I found all of them enjoyable, entertaing and interesting.
This was no exception.

I'm a fan of this series that I consider one of the best in the historical mystery field.
It's well researched, well written and I love the characters and the historical setting.
This time we're not in Constantinople but in Rome during one of the barbarian sieges.
Once I started the book I was hooked and I was enthralled by both the plot and the historical events described in the book.
A wonderful reading experience and I hope there'll be soon another instalment in this series.
Highly recommended!

This's a wonderful historical mystery. A very good book full of suspence, emotions, twists and turns.
It's atmospheric and enthralling, once you start you cannot put it down.

This was a really enjoyable read. Even if there's a reference to Stevenson's book I consider this one as something apart.
I loved the style of writing and found the plot both entertaining and interesting.

I usually prefer cozy books but sometimes I like to read some good horror one.
This was good, really good. And I was really frightened, nearly slept with the light on.
At same time it was a lot of fun and very enjoyable, a great book for giving yourself some literary thrill.
Highly recommended!

An enjoyable and entertaining book that reminded me Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
I liked the style of writing, the descriptions and the characters.

I like cozy mysteries and like when there're cats in them. This wasn't my cup of tea.
I had problems with the characters, I didn't like them, and found the situations and the plot a bit forced.
By the way my cat is a Russian Blue and that type of cat don't act like those described in the book.
