A very enjoyable historical mystery.
The setting is historically accurated and the plot is very interesting.
I liked how Plautius was written giving him flesh and without and unhistorical details.
Highly recommended.

This book was quite slow and uninteresting the first part and a lot of fun in the second one.
On a general level the book is well written and the historical setting well researched.
It would have been five stars but the first part bored me and I was thinking of not finishing the book.

A very good historical fiction with the added bonus of a mystery.
I loved the style of writing and the way the historical setting was recreated.
It's very realistic and literary at the same time.

I loved this book as I loved the previous one. I find there's a lot of tenderness in the description ot the characters and of the settings.
This is a good mystery and the plot is driven by the choices of the characters.
I love the cast of characters with their own doubts and problems and I find that their issues are a fundamental part of the plot.
I hope to read soon another instalment in this series.
Highly recommended.

I love Regency romances and was really happy to be approved for this one.
As I never read any of the previous books in this series I didn't know what type of romance it could be.
This book exceeded my expectations and I was hooked since the beginning. It was an enjoyable and interesting read.
I loved the proto-feminist intellectual heroine, so different from the standard Regency romance female character, and I loved the main male characters.
I found the plot fascinating and was enthralled by the historical references to the first palaeontologists (I'm fan of dinosaurs). The well researched historical background was a pleasant bonus
The romance was ok, pleasant and not too sentimental.
The style of writing is really pleasant and witty.
I highly recommend this book.
