This is not a bad mystery but unfortunately it didn't age well and it shows the influx of the time when it was written.
It is more interesting as a documentation of a specific historical time than as a mystery.

I read other instalments of this series and always like them as they were also really good.
It is nice to read about the development of the characters and their relationships.
This is a good read, entertaining and enjoyable with no plot hole and a good pace.
Sometimes it seemed to that Robbie was a bit on the "rigid" side sticking to truth at all cost without understanding what the consequences but this was just a small down in a very good mystery.
Strongly recommended.

I always like British Library Crime Classics as they help me to discover hidden gems of the Golden Age of mystery.
This is a hidden gem that somehow reminds me of Christie's Murder on the Orient Express as there are both a train involved and the stories of the different suspects.
The grime atmosphere reflects the historical period and even if it is nearly 70 years old it aged well.

A very good books, a good and tense mystery and a book to have a better understandment of the current situation of migrations in the Mediterranean sea.
I really enjoyed the plot, the characters and found really interesting the part on the migrations.

A charming book on how the French consider their home. Being a European what it is really interesting is the comparison between the American way and the French way.
Some good advice on how to improve home.
Very good.
Many thanks to Edelweiss and Dey Street Books for an advanced copy.

This a very good fantasy book that grows slowly on you. Not always easy, dark and, with complex relationship amongst the different characters.
I really like the way tha writer built a world with internal rules and the way she developed the growth of the different characters.
I am a fan of fantasy books with fairies but this one is a really good one and I was able to enjoy it even if I am in target.
Strongly recommended.

I read some mystery written by Rhys Bowen and thought this one could contain some mystery elements as well. It is a well written, sometimes slow historical romance. Characters are quite realistic and the part regarding Tuscany is well described. The historical facts are well documented.
Interesting but not my cup of tea.

An interesting and sometimes moving books about family, memories and recipes.
The recipes are interesting and already tried on of them: the result was relly tasty.
Not the usual recipe book or family memoir.
Nice and interesting
