A very interesting book on the spirits of Nature, Genius Loci and archetypes. A travel that gives food for thought about reconnecting to the world around us and ancestral root of where we are living.

This book is a real page turner. I was hooked since the beginning and kept on reading til the end.
It is funny, entertaining and quite hard to classify as it is not the classical historical mystery neither historical fiction or humorous fiction. It is a mix of all these things.
There is a sound plot, a very interesting unconventional and strong female heroine and an interesting main male character.
It is highly recommended.

This books contains all the elements that makes me love a book: New Orleans, witches, a family saga.
Unfortunately it was so slow I was not able to finish it.

I have mixed feeling. On one side I really appreciated the fast pace and the humour, on the other side it seemed that the mystery took a back seat to Molly, the heroine, stone-walling Barry, the detective.
The stonewalling was funny at the beginning and became a bit boring after a while.
I like the ending and the characters over the top.
There were no plot hole but the culprit was too much of a surprise and too few hints to understand.
An entertaining read but I could have been better.

This is a very interesting book, recommended to people who are interested in both ancient remedies and history.

I tried hard to get engaged in this book but it never seems to work for me.
It seemed to me that the mystery part took a back seat to the romance and the problems of the characters involved.
The characters were a bit lifeless and quite stereotypes.
The pace was sometime a bit to slow and the plot a bit confused.
It starts really well but then it went oomph .
It is well written but not my cup of tea.

I am a fan of this series and had high expectations that were met.
It was really enjoyable and read it in one settings. The paranormal part, stronger that in the previous books, was interesting and there were no plot hole and it kept guessing til the end.
The development in the relationships amongst the characters was well described and the descriptions of Salem make me wish to live in the town.
Strongly recommended.
