An amazing novel and a solid mystery, well written and fascinating.
It was great to meet the Bronte sisters and see them in the role of detectives. They're well written and well researched characters and I love them.
The plot was engrossing and entertaining and the mystery kept me guessing.
I look forward to reading other books by this author and other instalments in this series.
Highly recommended!

I'm love with the style of writing which is amazing and full of images and dreamy.
I loved it and it was the style of writing that kept me hooked because I really loved it.
On the other side I found the plot hard to follow and a bit disjointed.
It's an important book and it talks about important topics in a mix of magic realism and fantasy.
But the plot made it hard to read.
I think some will love it, on my side i'm in the middle.

I think this novel is a great idea but somehow the author failed to deliver.
I appreciated the new versione of the myth of Ariadne and Theseus but the characters seem a mono-dimensional and the archetypes beyond the myth seemed to be lost and anything new is in place.
I liked the style of writing but it was not my cup of tea.

I DNFed at 25%. The MC character grated on my nerves and I couldn't care about the characters or the plot.
I found the plot quite confusing and found hard to keep on reading.
The style of writing is interesting even if it takes a lot of elements from characters like Marlowe but it was not my cup of tea.

I love this series and I loved this instalment even if I think it's not the best one in this series as it's a bit slow paced at times.
The historical background is well researched as usual, the cast of characters well written and interesting and the mystery is solid, full of twists and turns and suspects.
What I really liked was the atmosphere, a bit bleak and sometimes creepy, and the description of the town, full of secrets and underground tensions.
Even if there's a lot of backstory this novel can't be read as a stand-alone and it'd be better to start from the beginning.
I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series.

I'm a huge fan of the story of Abelard and Heloise so I had great expectations for this book.
Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed as I found the story fragmented and it failed to keep my attention.
Not my cup of tea.

I don't think that Martin Cruz Smith could be able to write a bad book and this novel confirms my opinions.
It's gripping, fascinating and kept me on the edge till the end.
I was happy to meet again Arkady and was fascinated by the description of Siberia.
It was a great read, highly recommended.

This is the best Agatha Raisin's instalment I read in some time. Agatha is at her best, quirky and funny.
It was great to meet again the cast of characters Charles, Tony, Bill Wong and all the others.
I had a lot of fun in reading this novel, it's engrossing and entertaining.
I appreciated the humour, the well crafted cast of characters and their development, and a lovely donkey.
The mystery is solid, full of twists and turns, and it kept me guessing till the end.
It was a very pleasant and fun read, I strongly recommend it.

This is one of those books that make you thanks for not being a teenager anymore.
It's dark, disturbing, a darkly humorous.
The tone is detached, sometimes chilling and the cast of characters is well written even if it's hard to say if they're simply shallow or suffering.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who's got issues with food or is suffering from any eating disorder because it could strongly resonate and it surely wouldn't be an enjoyable read.
It's the first novel I read by this author and won't surely be the last.
