A complex and well written mystery, well researched and full of food for thought.
I loved this series and I think this is one of the most complex story.
It's well written and I think that Ms Upson is a talented storyteller and does an excellent job in describing life between the wars and the implications for those who didn't match all the standards.
The mystery part is solid and keeps you guessing, the cast of characters is well thought and interesting.
An excellent and engrossing read, strongly recommended.

It's a light and pleasant read with a well researched historical background.
The cast of characters is likeable and the plot flows without issue.
The mystery is solid and, even if I guessed the culprit, it was an engrossing read.
I liked it even if sometimes I found it a bit too light given the historical background.
On the other side I appreciated some elements that are not typical of a cozy mystery, I don't talk about them because I don't want to spoil anything.

I DNFed it at 35% as I couldn't connect to the characters or the plot.
There's a strong idea but the author somehow failed to deliver.
Not my cup of tea.

What an interesting book! More historical fiction than mystery, it's well written retelling of some historical facts of Australian history.
The cast of characters is really interesting and lively, the plot is entertaining and informative at the same time.
It starts a bit slow but once hooked you cannot put the book down.
Strongly recommended, especially if you love history.
Many thanks to publisher and Netgalley

It was a light and entertaining read. Even if I liked the style of writing some editing would have help to make the plot a bit more solid and the characters a bit more fleshed out.
All in all it was a good read and I recommend it you want a light read.
