A sweet story, a sort of Christmas fairy tale. It made me smile, root for the characters, and wish it was Christmas.

WOW! A very entertaining, gripping, and well written story that mixes horror, mythology, and historical characters and the mix works perfectly.
It's slow burning book but it turns into a fast paced story that kept me hooked and entertained.

An excellent book set in the 60s/70s, an age so different that it could be on another planet. Dublin long ago, poverty, the Troubles.
The author did a good job in setting the book in this historical background.
A gripping, dark story, an interesting MC, plenty of twists.
It could be a bit shorted but it was a gripping read.

It is a moving and important book as it talks about trees which are disappearing due to antropocene and climate changes.
The risk is that we will know about them looking at the photos in this book.

There was a time of my life when I read mostly book by Latinx and South American authors. This is one of those I would have loved then and loved now.
A colourful story of a family, a pinch of magic realism, characters larger than life, and a well plotted story.
I loved it and hope to read other books by this author.

When I saw this cover I thought I was ready for Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the solid mystery.
It's an entertaining cozy and Beth is becoming an expert sleuth and I love her character.
It could have been a 5* but the death of a pet is a big NOT in the world of cozy mystery and I rated this book down even if it's relevant to the plot.
