The excellent and compelling portrait of a dysfunctional family and its members. It's a multilayered story that deals with serious issue like mental health but there's also some lighter and funnier moment.
The author is a good storyteller and liked how the different POVs were dealt, always adding a layer to the story.
It's strongly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first mystery in this series and loved this one as it brought on me a trip where police procedures, investigation, and magical lore mixes.
Kali is a an expert in Hawaii lore and magic and a clever detective. She and her team will solve a bizzarre, cruel murder that features all the elements of a ritual and a possible ritual killing.
It was a fast paced story that I read in a sitting and couldn't put down. There's a cast of interesting characters, the dark side of paradise and the mythology of Hawaii.
The mystery is solid, I didn't guessed any twist or the solution and it kept me on the edge till the end.
Even if it's the third in a series it can be read as a stand alone.

I've been reading Brother Athelstan mysteries for ages and I haven't found any disappointing yet.
This is another atmospheric, gripping and solid mystery that kept me hooked and guessing.
The historical details and the characters are excellent as usual, Mr Doherty is a master storyteller.

The Zodiac Mysteries are amongst my favorite mystery series as they’re the right mix of coziness, suspense, and entertainment.
I’m very happy that Connie De Marco wrote a new instalment and it is the best one in the series so far.
I was glad to catch up with Julia and read about new development in her life. Julia is a clever, strong willed, and brave woman who never hesitates to fight for the underdogs.
This is a complex plot, there’s are different subplots and a part regarding Julia. It’s compelling, gripping, and it surprised me till the explosive end.
The solid plot is full of twists and I couldn’t guess them.
Ms. De Marco is a good storyteller and this novel kept me on the edge and hooked till the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, was moved at times, and loved the empathy of the authors toward the victims.
It’s an entertaining read but there’s also food for thought and this is one of the aspects that make me love this series.
An excellent read that I strongly recommend.
