I had a lot of fun and throughly enjoyed this story, the third in a well plotted and witty series.
It's not my favourite as some parts are a bit long winded but I was very happy to catch up with the characters and follow Skelton and some of his weird and funny cases.
The main plot is fascinating and full of twists till the last one, I learned something about cubist furniture, and the difference between knickerbockers and plus fours.
I missed Alan as he an Nora were not part of the investigation. Their part is more about social and political questions and it's quite heartbreaking if compared to the lighter tone of the rest.
An enjoyable book, recommended.

I wanted to read this book as I loved the first in this series and had high expectations. I wasn't disappointed and was hooked since the first pages.
i'm not sure if I would be happy to be friend with Jackie Cooks: she's a clever and strong woman but there's plenty of serial killer ready to kill relatives/friends :)
I found this novel less dark than the first book but more complex. The private life of Jackie is quite complicated, she must juggle career, a new born daughter, the older children, and a divorce.
She's a good team player even if not always on the same page with her boss.
I loved the empathy of the author with the victims. There's sadness, there's a lot of questions, and a list of partners who are terrible mate and fathers.
The plot kept me hooked and turning pages, all the twists surprised me and i couldn't guess the culprit.
I read it in one sitting as it's a page turner.
Strongly recommended.

I found it a highly entertaining and informative book of social history. I never thought that cocktails could be related to historical facts or changes in the way of living.
It was entertaining but it also made me think.
Highly recommended.

I had a lot of fun in reading this book and also couldn't put it down.
It's a bit slow at the beginning but I was hooked after some chapter and read it as fast as I could.
A steampunk Sherlock Holmes who woke up in XXI century and has to face all the changes, the new techologies, and the differences in the female role.
A sort of Watson, a well plotted story, and a lot of humour.
I suppose this is the start of a series and can't wait for another book featuring these characters.
Highly recommended.

Even if it's a book for beginners I am always interested in reading and discovering something new. This book is easy to follow and I found some ideas and recipes interesting.

It's always a hit or miss with this series as I'm not a fan of Stella as I find her a bit unrealistic if you think about Consuelo Vanderbilt or the heiress in Wharton's books.
It's a nice and entertaining fantasy and I enjoy this book as long as I do not compare them to historical characters.
This is complex and twisty mystery and it kept me guessing even if it took the backseat at time.

I think this was one of my most expected book of this year but I found it a mixed bag.
A very original concept, it starts very strong and the world building was fascinating. Somehow I felt that the plot was less intriguing even if it's good.
I will try and read it again as I think it could be one of those me-not-the-book case

It was the first book i read by this author and - WOW - it was a very entertaining read.
There's a lot of humour and action, the story is fast paced, and the world building excellent. I loved the characters and the plot.

I was more than happy to catch with Mirian and the gang as I love the colourful&inclusive atmosphere.
This mystery is even better than the first and kept me guessing. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, love the characters, and can't wait to read the next book.

When I read the blurb I thought about Nick&Nora, Asta and the 30s light mysteries.
i loved this author's storytelling and loved this mix of space opera and mystery, it well plotted and kept me hooked.
I read it as a sort mystery in the space and had a lot of fun.
Highly recommended.
