I love these mysteries as they're gripping and compelling. The setting is fascinating and the plot is always complex and keeps me guessing.
I'm not a fan of Florrie because she makes me think of a 60 years old (some old ladies are more trasgressive) in the body of a 20something. It's a weird character and I always hope that she will do something totally unexpected
This is a good mystery that kept me guessing and I enjoyed.

I'm old enough to remember player like Martina Navratilova and what was female tennis in the 80s. Carrie Soto would have been a myth as she's a woman who fights: she's isn't wasp, rich and she's a female.
But the she fight to be the best and win.
This book is her story, her coming back, her sacrifice and the possibility of getting something more from life than just winning a game.
I wasn't a fan of Malibu Rising but I read this one in one sitting as I loved Carrie and her story.
An excellent book, well told and plotted.
Highly recommended.

This is the first book I read by this author and I found it creepy, riveting, and entertaining.
The island is great setting: there's an eery atmosphere and a dark history. The characters are fleshed out and interesting.
The author is a good storyteller and there's plenty of twists that surprised me.
I appreciated the ending that was unexpected.
Highly recommended.

I think that this is a good book, creepy and gripping. Problem is that the first was exceptional and I started it with sky high expectations.
Once I realised that it was me not the book I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's well plotted and gripping. My only issue is that Sarah is a bit too juvenile but I like her.

Lavie Tidhar could write a shopping list and I would be happy to read and rate it 5*. That said you read the first page of this book and you know it will be a treat even if it's something more on the historical fiction/noir, an alternate retelling of the story of Israel.
A great book that i strongly recommend.

Things in Jar was a book that kept me enthralled, fascinated by the images and the storytelling. Also this book features the mix of magic realism, fantasy, and historical fiction and it's even more magical.
Jess Kidd is a very talented storyteller, a magician who keeps me enthralled and shows me dreams and nightmares.
The characters are two lovely children, the cast of characters is well done and interesting.
The style of writing and the storytelling are great and i loved every moment of this book.
Highly recommended.

I enjoyed all the novels in this series, had a lot of fun and I love the cast of this series. I don’t think I’ve ever rated one of this story less than 4*.
Each novel is better than the previous but this time it was like the author jumped higher and delivered a novel that much better than the previous (which was excellent).
It’s one of those book that I start and end in one sitting. I was going to check how it was and couldn’t stop reading.
A book with a very high rating on the entertainment and plot side.
It’s fast paced, full of surprising twists and I had a lot of fun in following the antics of Eleanor and Gladstone. Clifford and the ladies are as lovely as usual.
I liked how Eleanor is a bit more frail and I love her more because she’s also facing her past and her traumas.
The author did an excellent job in developing the plot and adding details to the character stories.
A very entertaining and gripping read, highly recommended.

There's plenty of twists in this book. There's a lot of red herrings, turns, and when you think you guessed the culprit and the motive you discover you were wrong.
I read this book in one sitting and had a lot of fun as it's a solid mystery and well done whodunit.
Cozy mystery are usually entertaining but not always a tightly knitted and gripping whodunit.
This cozy mystery was highly entertaining and ticked all the check for a well done mystery.
I love Julia and loved how she became her own woman and how she investigates without sounding like a busybody. She's able to talk, ask, and listen and you never feel she's being just nosy.
Jake is as lovely as usual and there's a cast of very interesting characters that make this story a bit darker than the average cozy.
i had fun and kept turning pages and this is a page turner.
Can't wait to read the next book.
Highly recommended.
