This is one of the best romantic fantasy book I read this year and one of the best fantasy tout court.
The author did an excellent job in creating a fascinating world building, an action packed plot and a romance that works and never put the action on the backseat.
I discovered it's part of a series and I can't wait to read the rest.
As it's so good I hope it will be read by a lot of people.
Highly recommended.

Heartwarming, uplifting, compelling. A book that made me smile, go for a walk, and read it thoroughly enjoyed this weird couple of well developed and likeable characters.
A well plotted story that I strongly recommend.

I didn't notice it was the second in a series but I was able to enjoy it nonetheless.
Well plotted, fascinating world building and fleshed out characters.
The end is a bit rushed and left open a number of questions.
Recommended (better if you read the series in order)

This is the second book I read in this excellent series and I thoroughly enjoy it.
The Gilded Age background is well done, well researched, and vivid. I love Genevieve, a rebel according to the rules, and how she defy the rules investigating.
The mystery is solid and well plotted, it kept me hooked and guessing.
Highly recommended.

It's a book full of potential and I enjoyed it as it kept me hooked.
Some more character developement and world building would help and make it more compelling.

It's been so long since I read Shadows of the Short Days that I had to go back and check it.
This an original and fascinating fantasy series and this second book met all my expectations and kept me turning pages.
Great world building and characters.

I'm a fan of CS Harris and Anne Perry's William Monk and this is becoming another favorite of mine as I love this book more than the first one.
Well plotted, twisty, dark, and highly entertaining. It kept me hooked and guessing, I loved the characters and the vivid historical background.

Three enjoyable stories that made me smile and fell the festive atmosphere. They're well plotted and well written.

This is not my favorite as some parts are very slow and the pace is a bit uneven. That said I enjoyed and had fun, the characters are as likeable as usual.

This is one of those book that makes you think and gives you hope. Hazel and her friends are the hope for a future when sexual harassment and bullying are things of the past
The author did an excellent job in dealing with very serious topics and never sound preachy or delivering a drammatic story.
It's compelling, thought provoking, and gripping.
Highly recommended.
