My great grand mother made me learn what herbs are useful and what mushroom are edible. I was something I learn as a child and I learned something more reading and listen to the older people.
I'm always a bit wary when read books about people living in the wild foraging and blah blah.
This one is well written but some parts, like giving birth, are bit too extreme for me.
I love the message about changing our way of living.

I fell in love with the cover and the name Garbage Disposal. And then I fell in love with this second chance, uplifting, and life affirming story about second chances and starting again.
It made me smile, root for the characters, and throroughly enjoy this story.

It's an interesting book about Italian-American practice. The Italian traditions are more complex and the one in this book is related to the area of Neaples/Campania.
Please note that there are at least 6 different traditions so "Italian magic" is a bit meaningles unless you specifiy which one.
But it you want to learn about how tradition of a part of Italy evolved this is an interesting book.
One note: I'm Italian born and bread, had the pleasure of meeting traditional healers and I would recommend The Beneadanti by Carlo Ginzubur for real Italian tradition

I wanted to read it as it talks about Berlin. It was a sort of diary, flush of consciouness, moments and places.
Some characters and their story.
I would define it as "rarefied". There's no plot but it was fascinating.

There's humour, there's mystery, there's the life of normal or famous people in Glasgow . They've got dreams, they want more, they join forces as life bring them together.
I don't know Kevin Bridges but I can say he delivers an excellent novel full of black humour. Well plotted and with an interesting cast of characters.

I love the cover and liked the story, a twisty and compelling mix of mystery and family saga.
There's plenty of secrets, there're people who died, and a missing notebook. The characters are relatable and fleshed out and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another very funny book by this author. It made laugh out loud and thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the characters.
There's some darker moment and the author dealt with them in an excellent way.
I didn't like this phrase "Bet the bastards didn’t tell you that wine is remarkably good at cancelling out whining though, did they?’ muttered Claire." as it seems to be the poster phrase for alcohol is a good way to stop suffering.
It can be fun to read it but it would be tragic in real life.
