This is the second book in this series and it's another entertaining, fast paced, and gripping story.
There's plenty of emotion, actions, there's a mother who fight for saving her daughter.
It's well plotted, the world building is well done and I love the storytelling.
Highly recommended.

This is the best Cara Hunter novel I read so far: an excellent police procedural that kept me turning pages and being surprised by all the twists till the final part.
I was glad to catch up with the characters and was fascinated by the possible culprits. Camilla, the chameleon girl, is the epitome of the unreliable narrator. A woman who prefer to spend her life in prison rather than saying what happened to her child. Her mother, a chilly woman obsessed by the social standing and the reputation.
There's not a lot of likeable or "good people", there's plenty of secrets and rage.
I liked how the author used different media (mail, newspapers, calls, tv program) to make us understand what is happening.
A gripping and excellent story that I strongly recommend.

This is the first book i read in this series and - WOW - it starts with a bang and never stopped keeping me on the edge and turning pages.
It's a dark and twisty story, a well plotted thriller that brought me to very obscure places. I liked the fleshed out characters who are hiding secrets, the setting, and the tightly knitted story.
Can't wait to read another one by this author.
Highly recommended.

I'm not the greatest fan of nordic noir but i was curious to read this story as there's echoes of Sherlock Holmes and Henning Menkel.
It's not a fast paced or action packed novel as it's character driven and it takes its sweet time to introduce us to the two main character, Rekke and Vargars, who are from the top and lowest social class.
A genius and a woman who needs to prove herself. We know since the first pages that she's also seen as a political extremist and politics and history plays an important role in this story.
Rekke is a genius, bipolar and addicted to substances as the Sherlock Holmes. But he's also a well thought and interesting character. Vargas' is on the wrong side of the low and she was born in a very poor area.
These two unlikely partners work well together and when the action starts this becomes a gripping and twisty story.
The author did a good job in mixing social instances, police procedural, and political thriller. There's a lot of potential in this series.
This book requires to be patient and if you can wait ti's an interesting and gripping read.

I knew this book was right up my alley since I read the blurb. The 80s are an age dear to my heart as it was the time of having fun, attending university, experimenting with fashion, and listening to tons of good music.
It's a complex era that was very exciting, fun but also very dark.
This story talks about the lighter side, the one we remember and would like to live again.
It's a coral story about a family and their quirky neighbours. The author developed a groups of fleshed out and relatable characters, I liked them and hope to read more stories featuring them.
It's a well told story, it kept me reading and entertaining, turning pages and enjoying it.
I'm glad I read it because I discovered a new to me interesting author.

Another entertaining cozy mystery featuring Cassie Gwynne and this lovely cast of characters.
I think this series improved with each instalment and this is the best so fare. The mystery is solid and the likeable characters are fleshed out. They grew on me and I like them.
The setting is as fascinating and well described as usual. I like the vivid descriptions and the well researched historical background.
The titles of the books are great and they sound very XIX century.

I’ve been following the adventure of Zoe and Dorian since the first book and I’m in love with this series since the first book.
This preamble to say that I loved all the books in this series but I consider this one the best so far.
I was glad to catch up with the characters and the twisty plot kept me hooked and entertaining. I didn’t guess any twist and the solution surprised.
It’s also an an excellent New Golden Age mystery. There’s a lot of fun, there’s the paranormal side but there’s a impossible crime and lot of riddle to solve.
Gigi Pandian did an excellent job and her works is up to those of well known writer of the Golden Age era.
There’s one issue: it says that the next book will be in 2023 and I absolutely need to know what will happen as there could be a great surprise.
That said I had fun and read it in one setting so go and read it.

My love story with this series started with Foundryside and I never found any reason to fell out of love. The previous stories were amazing and this one is even better.
It's one of the most original and well plotted fantasy series. Something more that just a battles, magic and so on.
I loved it and I'm going to read it again and I'm sure I will found something new to love.
Highly recommended.
