annarella 's review for:
Hope to Die
by Cara Hunter
This is the best Cara Hunter novel I read so far: an excellent police procedural that kept me turning pages and being surprised by all the twists till the final part.
I was glad to catch up with the characters and was fascinated by the possible culprits. Camilla, the chameleon girl, is the epitome of the unreliable narrator. A woman who prefer to spend her life in prison rather than saying what happened to her child. Her mother, a chilly woman obsessed by the social standing and the reputation.
There's not a lot of likeable or "good people", there's plenty of secrets and rage.
I liked how the author used different media (mail, newspapers, calls, tv program) to make us understand what is happening.
A gripping and excellent story that I strongly recommend.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
