It was the first book I read in this series and it was a great discovery.
It's fun to read and entertaining, fast paced and full of twists and turns.
I like the way the characters well written, tridimensional and relatable, and how their relationship evolves in the book.
I loved the plot that is always easy to understand even when it becomes complex.
This is not the first book in the series but I had no problems in understanding the plot and the characters. It was also the a very good introduction to this series.
I look forward to reading the next installment.

I discovered this series a couple of months ago and binge read. I loved the previous books and I loved this one.
This is a wonderful series and this was a wonderful ending.
I hope somehow that there will be further books, in any case this was a very pleasant read.

I am a fan of Ruth Galloway mysteries and was really happy to be approved for this one.
I started one evening and ended the day after as once I started I couldn't stop.
Being Italian it was really interesting to see my country thru a non Italian eyes and the descriptions are quite realistic.
On a general level it is a page turner, full of plot twists. It develops the already existing relationships amongst the different characters and the mystery is very good.
Even if there are a lot of explanations this book cannot be read as a standalone but needs to be read as part of the series.

As much as I tried I was not able to like this book.
It's well written, the characters are lively and it's quite fast paced.

An amazing book, fascinating and complex.
I was a bit confused at the beginning by the high number of characters and the unusual style of writing, I didn't read the first installment in this series, but after a bit I was hooked and couldn't put this book down.
Even if it's marketed as the Chinese Lord of the Ring it's definitely something else, not sharing anything with Tolkien work.
A lot of fantasy book set in Far East are being published but this the real thing, a real Chinese work and it's like discovering a wonderful world and you don't know if that world comes out the mind of the writer or is the historical depiction of an era. In the end you don't mind as you're engrossed in reading.
I look forward to reading further installment in this series.
