It moved me to tears, kept me turning pages. I loved this story, a mix of Jewish folklore and historical fiction.
It's heartbreaking and fascinating, a sad fairy tale and a good piece f historical fiction.
Highly recommended.

An interesting biography about how a working class boy became a bibliophile, a piece of social history, and a love letter to books.
I must admit it was the first book I read by this author but I was fascinated by the storytelling and the sharp social remarks.
Upper class still defines what is culture and what is considered a good read. Working class is disappearing or becoming invisible, books are a sort of foreign object.
The love letter to books is great and love reading what the author thought.
It was an excellent read, highly recommended.

It's the start of a new series and, even if it's entertaining, I found it lacked excitement and it didn't always kept my attention.
Not my cup of tea.

Eve Ronin thrillers are always exciting and gripping and this one confirms my idea.
There's plenty of twists, action, and I was surprised by all of them. I couldn't guess the culprit and read it as fast as I could.
Lee Goldberg is an excellent storyteller and this books is highly recommended.

A noir set in Louisiana, a hard nosed and interesting detective, a gripping and twisty plot.
This is the first book I read in this series and liked it. It's gripping and entertaining.

It's not a heartwarming book, it's book that moved me to tears and made hope for the best for all these women.
There's tragedy but there's hope. Their life are full of fear but kindness is something that go over fear.
The sweet cover is a bit tricky as you expect a sweet story featuring cats, you get a complex and emotionally charged story about troubled women.
But it's worth the effort as the author can write and is an excellent storyteller.
Highly recommended.

A clever and well written story featuring fleshed out characters and an unusual plot that mixes romance with a pinch of paranormal.
