Even thought it's quite entertaining I couldn't help thinking about Outlander and how this seemed a YA version of that series.
I had fun but I would recommend a crash course in British Isles mythology as it can vary according to the place.
Had fun but not my cup of tea.

Great start of a new urban fantasy series, I thorughly enjoyed it and had fun.
Excellent storytelling, world building, likeable characters.
Can't wait to read the next story, highly recommended.

Catherine Coles' mysteries are becoming a favorite as they are well written and entertaining.
This one was a compelling and entertaining read, a solid mystery that kept me guessing.
Likeable and fleshed out characters, a tightly knitted plot.
Recommended.

This is the right book if you are a fan of Philo Vance or Peter Wimsey. Anty Boisjoly reminded me of those characters and I thoroughly enjoyed this well written whodunit.

Helena Dixon did it again and this a great summer mystery as you can feel the sun on your face and makes you wish to be in the quaint Dorset village.
Ms Dixon plays again with the classic Golden Age tropes, I will not say which one because I don't want to spoil anything.
A murder of rich men in a country club, old division and hurt in a family, plenty of suspects.
Kitty and Matt are two great characters as usual, I missed a bit the atmosphere of the hotel but I throughly enjoyed it nonetheless.
It's a bit slow at beginning but after the first chapter I wasn't able to stop reading and turn pages as fast as I could.
I had some suspects but the twists and the solution surprised me.
One note: It would be great if the storyline involving Kitty's mother killers would be closed. At the very moment this part is not adding a lot of fun or suspense and something would make this series even better.
It's the perfect summer read, highly recommended.

I knew I was going to cry buckets and smile since I read the first pages. It's a heartwarming, moving and compelling story, perfect for dog lovers or if you want to read a sweet story.
Stupendo is the epitome of a "good boy", he died and want to say good bye. Tuesday lost her dogs and she's grieving.
The story is the story of a bond, of how hard is to say good bye to our pets, and also a bit a mystery.
It's well written, the characters are fleshed out and the plot flows.
Highly recommended.

3.5 upped to 4
This is a highly entertaining series and I usually thoroughly enjoyed the novels but this is one is not the best one and I found it a bit too slow and dragging at times.
I liked the humour and laughed a lot but the mystery part starts around half the book and, even if it was fun to read the antics of the friends is Sweden, I was wondering if there was going to be any tipe of crime or not.
That said you understand later that the author is disseminating clues.
The mystery was solid and I had fun. The satire of the black metal musician worked and I was glad to catch with the characters.
There's too much Tinkers and too few Jaunty.
It's an entertaining read and can be read as a stand alone.

A quite gripping, fast paced and entertaining historical fiction.
I think it's quite well researched and I appreciated the characters and the vivid historical background.
The plot sometimes drags but it never bores.
Even if I think that the characters are fleshed out I found the female characters a bit static and prototyped.
Recommended.

I had no doubt this was going to be a 5* as I love Aliette de Bodard's storytelling and those set in the world of Dominion of the Fallen have a special place in my heart.
I read Of Dragons, Feasts and Murders without any clue about world building and characters. Loved it and bought/read the rest of the series.
I had high expectations for this novella and I'm happy because I thoroughly enjoyed and loved the story.
I loved how the author dealt with some serious issues like what is that makes a person and other that I won't spoil but the main plot never took the back seat or dragged.
I think this one of the traits that make me thing that Aliette de Bodard is a master storyteller. She excels at writing sci-fi and fantasy stories but i think that she could be an excellent mystery writer too.
Even if there's a complex world building it can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone.
All this blah blah because i loved the story and I think it must be strongly recommended.

I should be one of the few human being who read this book and didn't know who is the writer so I had no expectation.
I thought it was going to be a cozy mystery and, maybe, there was something of Barbara Pym and her vicar&ladies.
The first part was brilliant: I loved the old dragons, the parish dynamics, and liked William. I had fun and laughed.
The mystery started and the story dragged as not a lot was happening till something happened and the book was again gripping.
The last part was excellent and kept me turning pages.
I liked the description of the social relationship and the story behind the characters. It's an excellent book that describes life in a small village and the relationship with the past. I think that the author did an excellent job in developing the village and the dynamics.
The mystery could have been a bit fast but it kept me guessing.
Even if I found it very slow at times it kept me hooked and entertained.
I only missed the Church Times (any Barbara Pym reader knows)
Recommended.
