It's not the first Patricia Gibney's novel I read but it's the one that moved me to tears and kept turning pages.
I read it in one afternoon as I wanted to know what happened, why, and the culprit/s
I suppose sometimes I forgot to breath as there's not a moment when the plot drags and there's enough unexpected twists to keep me on the edge.
Lottie is a great characters, she's a bit wonder-woman at times due to her preternatural capacity of multitasking, and I like her. I would he happy to invite her to dinner and get to know her better.
The plot is well crafted, I don't want to explain anything because it would be spoiling, and it made me feel a series of emotions. i appreciated the empathy towards the victims and the fact that there's no pity and not cheap emotions.
The people involved in this stories are all very young. It's a story about very young people. It starts and closes with a BANG.
I loved it and it's strongly recommended.

This a book that is a sort of stand-alone even if it's part of Discworld. It doesn't feature any of the usual characters and it's not set in the usual spot.
It's full of food for thought, funny as only Pratchett's book can be, but also full of food for thought and cutting remarks.
It talks about religion and Mr Pratchett had something to say, something very clever and very important in our days of dogmatism and sectarism.
I wouldn't recommend it as the first in Discworld but it's an important book as there are references in Carpe Jugulum and other books in this series.
It's highly recommended as usual

Susan Sto-Helit is not one of my fav Discworld characters but DEATH is and I'm always in two minds about this book.
I love some parts not so much other and the plot is a bit disjunted.
That said this is Pratchett, one of my top three authors, and I can't rate it less than five stars.
There's a lot to love and a lot of fun plus the characters I love.
Highly recommended.

This is a book that stats with a bang, becomes a slow burning thriller and keeps you hooked till the end.
There's a lot going on, an average man involved in something very big and an interesting detective.
I loved the storytelling and the solid plot.

Maybe this is the retelling of witch hunts or maybe this is the depiction of what could happen to women in the future.
It was a fascinating read, full of food for thought.

A dark story, twisty and fascinating. A dual timeline, women who suffered loss and trauma, the fascinating setting of the Shetland.
It's poignant and sometimes disturbing story, I found it a bit depressing at times.
The author is a talented storyteller, the descriptions of the Shetland are fascinating, and the characters well developed.
It's recommended.
