I like books featuring older women who are at a turning poing and liked this one, a choral story that kept me hooked.
The characters are realistic and well plotted, there's a lot of humour and food for thought.
A compelling and entertaining read.

It's the first time I read a book by T.Kingfisher even though there's a couple in my TBR. It was a fascinating and riveting book that I read in two sitting and kept me reading as I couldn't put it down.
There're fantasy elements, a world building that reminded me a middle age world, and a serious issue like women abuse.
Marra is a complex and fascinating character: she's a nun who choose to be one amongst the other, a sister with a mission, a clever women.
I loved her and I loved the characters that join her quest.
The author is talented storyteller and the tightly knitted plot flows.
An excellent read, highly recommended.

I'm a fan of Max Gladstone and had high expectations about this book as the blurb sounded right for me.
It took some chapters before I started to make sense of the characters and the story. I felt confused at the beginning and nearly DFNed.
When things started to made sense I loved the story, the original world building, and the characters.
This is a book full of visions, a dystopia that mixes different elements and makes it works.
Max Gladstone is an excellent storyteller and this story, even if is not one of my favorite, is recommended.

The Gilded Ones was an excellent feminist fantasy, the Merciless Ones is even better.
It's an easy or heartwarming book, sometimes I felt it was a sort of grimdark fantasy due to some very crude or violent scenes.
That said I loved this story and I think that Deka and the other characters are amongst the most interesting in the fantasy world. Like the world building and the plot.
Namina Forna is a talented storyteller and I can't wait to read the last part of this series.
Highly recommended.

Another good addition to this excellent historical mystery series. The descriptions of the Roman Britain and the society structures are always fascinating and I learned a lot about this part of the Roman Empire.
It was good to catch up with the characters, well developed as usual.
The mystery is full of twists and turns, solid, and kept me guessing.
Can't wait to read the next installment.
Highly recommended.
