I must admin that I know nearly nothing about the even that brought to Irish civil war and this book was an excellent way to learn something more.
The author does an excellent job in giving a balanced account of what happened and the always keeps the attention alive.

A fascinating anthology of short stories, stories of black women of all ages and their relationship.
Women seen as people who feel, has desire and lives.
Women in Church, any confession, are seen as supporting, helping or sinner. They seldom seen as person with dreams and needs.
This women in this books are sweet, sad, tender, and fleshed out.
The excellent debut of a new author.

This is a book that kept me hooked even if I hated the MC, Nathalie.
There's plenty of surprises, there's questions, and some suspension of belief is required.

I was sure I read Glow but I didn't. I cannot compare this book to the previous and sometimes was a bit confused as I think I didn't catch some references to the previous book.
That said it's well written, entertaining, and I liked the world building.

Candance Camp is one of my favorite Regency romance writer and this book didn't disappoint.
An enemy to lover story, a very brave heroine who challenge the powerful family of her late husband for the love of her child, a pinch of mystery
The historical background is vivid, there's humour and I loved the banters, the romance is realistic and I liked how the characters related.
An excellent story, highly recommended.
