When I requested an arc by John Waters I wasn't expecting a cozy and heartwarming story. I got a darkly humorous, over the top, and crazy story that I loved.
It's one of the craziest story i read and loved every moment of it.
So go and read it if you love John Waters.

It was like travelling back in time as these magazines are the perfect depiction of a type of morality and the role of women.
They were also the work of great illustrators.
I loved them and I think they must be read as document of a past age.
Highly recommended.

Atmospheric, dark, and gripping: this is a fascinating story, well written, and complex.
Mickey is an excellent character and I liked how the young and old Mickey were developed.
The description of 70s Saigon were fascinating and lively.
The plot flows and it's very sad at moments.
The author is a talented storyteller and i liked the style of writing.

I loved romances featuring dogs or cats and this one was good. Two hurt people, a lovely dog, a sweet romance.

I work in high tech and have been a female engineer in a male world for ages.
I was really interested in this book but, even if it's well researched, it's so academic that I felt it very far from the reality and more like a paper.
I will try again to read it.

I loved the style of writing and the description of New York in each timeline. The characters are well developed and interesting.
The pace was really slow and nearly DNFed as I was struggling. It's a book that requires to be patient because the second half is compelling and interesting.
I'm not in the mood for a very sad book and I'm sure I will appreciate it more at another time.

The excellent debut of a historical cozy series set in India during the 20s.
