This is not an easy or light story, this is a harsh and well written story that kept me reading and moved me to tears.
Great characters and storytelling. I loved the style of writing.
Highly recommended.

This is the second book I read in this series and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a well plotted and gripping historical cozy mystery, an enjoyable and solid mystery.
Good character and plot development, a mystery that kept me guessing.
The historical background is well researched and vivid.

A modern retelling of the story of Eros and Psyche. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, had fun and rooted for the characters.
I didn't read the rest of the series and will surely do, this one can be read as a stand alone.

I loved Giles Kristian's historical novels, one of the best retelling of the Arthurian legends, and was happy to be invited to read his new book, a thriller set in the Norway artic circle.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel even if I'm a not a huge fan of thriller set in Scandinavia. The author did an excellent job in keeping the tension alive creating an fuelled plot that kept me on the edge.
The storytelling is excellent and it made me visualize the artic landscape and the characters.
The characters are well developed and realistic, not always likeable but very interesting.
It was an exciting rollercoaster that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The excellent start for a new cozy series featuring a great MC, Liz, and a great and lovely dog, Nelson.
i read this book in one setting as it's a page turner I couldn't put down. There's a lot of twists, humour, suspects, and some very funny moments.
I loved the cast of characters and I hope there's going to be a HEA on the romantic side.
The mystery is solid, full of twists and turns, and the solution came as a surprise.
I can't wait to read the next novel and I hope this is going to be a very long series.
Highly recommended.

This is the second book in a series about women in different ages, Mrs Morphett’s Macaroons is the second set in the Edwardian age.
It’s a light and entertaining story but it’s also an informative read because the author’s theatre experience made the story realistic as she knows what she’s talking about and how hard people work to prepare a debut.
The characters are fleshed out, I liked Violet and Robbie and their relationship. They’re a couple of clever characters. There’s plenty of humour in this story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I read the book in one setting, and it was an excellent way to escape the bleak reality of these days.
An entertaining, compelling, and interesting story that I recommend.

I loved Every Last Fear and I think it’s one of the most original and gripping thriller I read in 2020.
The Night Shift is even better and it’s got a high rate in both “Sleep deprivation” and “Read it as fast as I could” scale, I started it yesterday afternoon and didn’t switch the light off till I turned the last pages.
It’s breathtaking reading experience: it’s one of those “Another chapter” type of book and this becomes a sort of mantra till you read the last chapter.
There a complex story and there’s multiple POVs: Ellie the survivor, Sarah the FBI investigator, Chris the brother of the main suspect.
Each of them is working to catch a multiple killer, each them is related to two massacre for differen reasons.
I loved all of them, was moved by their story and rooted for them hoping they could find peace or simply discover who did it.
It’s a complex thriller, I was surprised by the solution and couldn’t guess any twist.
I’m also starting to think that Alex Finlay can’t write a book that will surprise me and force me to read it in one setting.
Gripping, compelling, riveting: there’s a long list of adjectives that could be used for this book.
I will be short: read it!
Highly recommended.

An interesting and gripping start of a new urban fantasy series. Randi is a great character, a hybrid who is not accepted by both side and work as detective.
A kick-ass heroine that I loved and is fleshed out.
The plot flows and entertaining, it kept me turning pages and I enjoyed it.
