Libby Klein's mysteries are my favorite when it comes to humorous cozy mystery. This is one of the best in this series and I had a lot of fun.
It's a compelling and entertaining story, well plotted and solid.
The mystery is full of twists and turns and kept me guessing.
I was glad to meet again the characters, they're fleshed out and lkeable as usual.
Highly recommended.

Hunlaf is back and I thoroughly enjoyed this new book. This monk-warrior, his quest for a mythical book called The Tree of Life" and his cousin who disappeared during a Viking raid.
The old man he is now look back to the past and tell what happened, how ho found hard to understand his true calling, and saw and lived through fascinating adventures.
This book is quite slow burning, it takes a bit for the adventure to start but it was compelling and fascinating.
There's not a lot of historical documentation about the times when Hunlaf was living but the author did an excellent job in mixing facts and fiction.
Even if Hunlaf is a fictional character he could have been one of the uncountable monks who travelled and were warrior and monk at the same time.
The author did a good job in developing the characters and the background. The storytelling is excellent and kept my attention alive even if it's a bit slow at the beginning.
I can't wait to read the next book as it's full of promises and new places.
Highly recommended.

I like stories written by vets and liked this one. There's humour, there's the real life of a vet with the up and down, customers who don't want to pay included.
I liked the style of writing and thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The Gifts is a multilayered and riveting story, a fascinating piece of historical fiction with elements of fantasy and gothic.
There're multiple voices, there's the representation of a society and the inner patriarchalism of the Victorian age.
The author did and excellent job in delivering plot and characters, the historical background is vivid, and the storytelling great.
I can't wait to read another story by this author.

I knew who Warren Adler is but never read one of his books. This one was excellent, a mix of politics and thriller.
It's fast paced but I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions, the atmosphere, and the remarks.
Excellent character and plot development.
Even if it's set in the 80s the plot and the characters aged well.
Highly recommended.

I loved this book as it's a love letter to stories, storytelling and William Thackearay.
Janice and the cast of characters are a fascinating lot, each with a story, and there a parallel story that talks about Becky Sharp and The Bonfire of Vanity.
If you don't know William Thackearay please read his books as he was one of the most sharp observer of Victorian Age.
In any case this is an excellent book and I loved every moment. Storytelling, plot and character development: everything works fine.

This was a very informative book as it talks about an aspect of Georgian society that is less known or discussed.
The high-end courtesans were fascinating characters and 'I'm happy i learned something about them and their life.
A fascinating and well researched book even a bit dry at times.

It was an interesting book about interesting women. We think that the woman in Medieval Court played the role of love objects for knights and troubadour. Wrong, they played the game but were also powerful and influencial.
This is a well researched and engrossing book, I learned a lot and want to learn more.
Highly recommended.
