This book is brilliant, highly entertaining, and compelling. It's the kind of book that keeps you reading till late in the night.
I loved Delilah, rooted for her, and thoroughly enjoyed this well written story.
Highly recommended.

I think there's a lot of potential in this series as long as Poppy grows a spine and start choosing better friend.
That said I had fun and enjoyed it.

I like this series and this is another good addition. It's an entertaining and compelling mystery that kept me reading.
I was glad to catch up with the characters, and the solid plot kept me guessing as there's plenty of suspects.
Recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling and the world building but I found the characters a bit underdeveloped and this made the novel less entertaining and gripping.
Not my cup of tea.

I really loved the story till the 60%: it was gripping, fast paced and highly entertaining. It was going to be a top reated novel but somehow lost steams, dialogues and characters became a bit stilted, and my attention dropped.
I enjoyed it on the whole but it could have a great story.

This a great series and this is a very good addition as it's compelling, riveting, and highly entertaining.
At the core it's a homage at the Golden Age mystery impossible murder with a closed circle of suspects, please don't talk about locked room because there's no locked room.
Helen Dixon did a good job in creating a complex puzzle, who killed Simon Traver in full view, and making her detective work on it. The solution is satisfying and there's plenty of clues that helps you to understand who the culprit could be.
I was happy to catch up with Kitty and Matt as I loved these characters. Kitty is a very modern character, and she is experiencing a lot of pressure to become a housewife leaving her detecting days behind.
The characters are interesting, and the hypocrisy/prejudices of the age are well described.
My only note is related to Ezekiel and his sister: this is the fil rouge of the series, but I think it lost steam and I read the part related to this subplot quite fast.
I had fun in reading this novel and I did in one setting. It's always a pleasure to read novels in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed this one
Highly recommended.

I fell in love with this series when I read The Library of the Unwritten and this series always keep me entertaining and in love with the words I read.
It's a long love letters to books, ideas, characters, and it's also an excellent fantasy series that mixes genres, tropes and make them original and new.
The God of Lost Words is the brilliant last instalment in this series: I read it as fast as I could, savoured the words, enjoyed the story, and cry saying goodbye to the characters.
Parts of me hope to be able to meet again Claire, Hero and the other fleshed out characters.
They were well developed, and I loved following their evolution as much as I loved the amazing world building.
I can't wait to read another book by this author.
Highly recommended.

I had high expectations for this story as the blurb was fascinating and loved the description of Shade.
That said I think my expectations were too high and I didn't like Shade.
It's quite fast pace, entertaining, but the characters are somehow lacking personality and Shade was quite unlikeable.
I liked the world building but it seemed a mix of romantic fantasy and grim-dark. Lot of potential but some more character development would have helped.
