Death is one of my favorite characters in the Discworld and this is the first book in the Death series.
I find hard to review a Pratchett book because I loved them all and loved anything featuring DEATH.
This is another funny and clever book, I found the plot well crafted and the world building amazing.
There's a lot of description of Death realm but this one is fascinating and dreamlike at the same time.
I laughed a lot and read this book quite fast. There's plenty of things going on, Mort is an unlikely apprentice and his story with Ysabel quite funny.
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (written in Death style)

There's not a lot of cozy mystery heroine who works in STEM and I was very happy to read this book, the start of a new series, which features a materials engineer.
Zoey is a relatable, clever and flesh out character and I was fascinated by her competence and her brain as she's very clever.
The author's background makes this book even more interesting and I appreciated the details and the realism as I work in high tech.
Tasha the dog is lovely and the author did an excellent job in developing the characters and the setting.
This is a fast paced and riveting story, there's an unusual plot for a cozy mystery as there's more action and intrigue than usual, and some romance.
I read it as fast as I could and ended it in one setting.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series, this one is highly recommended.
Many thanks to K. T. Lee and Rachel's Random Resources for this digital copy, all opinions are mine

Mad Mac is back in an adrenalin fuelled, action packed and gripping story that kept me reading till late in the night.
There's a sense of urgency in this story, you feel that time is essential because the killer is going to strike again. This is a fight against time but also an investigation that involves powerful people, the type of people that aren't usually investigated.
Mackenzie is changing, she's as blunt as usual but she's also trying to develop her social skill and to get a life out of her works. I found her sweet, you can see her wounds behind the mask and how she's coming to term with her past.
The cast of characters is well developed and fleshed out as usual, I couldn't help picturing the setting as a series of images in black and white with some red spots.
It was a riveting and highly entertaining read, emotionally charged and well written. Storytelling was super.
Highly recommended.

I wasn't a fan of the previous book as I found it confusing. This one was entertaining and the plot worked keeping me entertained and hooked.
Good world building and character development, solid mystery.

This is the first book I read in this series and it was one of those eye opener that makes you wonder why you never read it before.
Ten short stories featuring a women detectiver and her assistant: they are entertaining and well written.
I liked the characters and the historical background is vivid. The solid mystery kept me guessing.
Highly recommended.

An entertaining and interesting sci-fi featuring two great characters and a fascinating world building.
I liked Felix and Joy and liked how Joy deals with her body and the struggle to accept it.
The plot is well developed and gripping even if it's a bit less exciting after they land on planet Earth.
The author is a talented storyteller and I think they could become excellent sci-fi writer.

This is one of the most fascinating and well written book about the story of flora and fauna through the ages I've ever read.
I found it riveting and gripping, informative and well researched. It's full of descriptions that made me feel like I was watching a movie, and food for thought as there's references to our current climate crisis.
It was like travelling in time and seeing how the planet and its inhabitants evolved.
I loved it and it's strongly recommended.

This is the first book I read by Alafair Burke and won't surely be the last as I found it gripping and highly entertaining.
I was fascinated by this story full of secrets and red herring: we don't know who was Hope and we don't know why she disappear.
Her friend Lindsay will do anything to bring her back and Ellie, the detective, is involved and will discover things from the past.
The plot is a bit slow paced at the beginning but the unexpected twists and red herring kept me reading.

Shakespeare and Company and Sylvia Beach plays an important part in the European literature scene of the beginning of XXth century.
That said I didn't know anything about Beach's life or how the bookstore was established.
This is a compelling and informative read, a well researched book that tells the story of Sylvia and how she became an iconic character
It was a gripping read and I was fascinated by the setting and the atmosphere.
I wasn't a fan of the characters as it was very romantic but I assume that some of the most important writer of the XXth century talked in a different way. I like Adrienne but I suppose her relationship with Sylvia was a bit more complex and not only physical.
It was an entertaining read and made me learn about the life of this iconic women.
