Even if it's not as brilliant as the first story, it's a riveting and highly entertaining read.
There's a lot of world building and the story starts where the first book ended.
Some romance, intrigues, magic and author did a good job in using classic fantasy tropes and making them work in an original way.
I think that my doubts are cause by the "second book syndrome".
I enjoyed it and it's recommended.

It was a fascinating read and I learned a lot reading this book.
It's well researched and I was fascinated by Ewan Forbes and their story. It's the story of a person and of trans people in the recent past.
There's some repetition at the beginning and this was the slowest part.
An interesting and informative read, recommended.

It's the second book I read in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed.
New and favorite authors, a mix of different stories that I loved even if they're not all at the same level.
Highly recommended.

I love Tish Tarragon series and I think this the best book so far as it's a page turner that kept me hooked and guessing. It's an excellent and tense mystery, full of red herring and twists.
The mystery is a bit darker but I loved the complexity and how the author manage to keep the suspence level.
There's also some changes in Tish life and had a lot of fun in reading about them and appreciated how they never became the main point of the story.
I was glad to meet again Jules, Celestine, Mary and the gang of characters. They're likeable and fleshed out as usual.
An excellent cozy mystery, a bit darker than usual.
Highly recommended.

It's been ages since last I read a Lily Dale mystery and was very happy when I got the arc for the new in this beloved series.
It was great to travel again to Lily Dale, this quaint and strange town, and to catch up with Bella and the characters.
Even if it's not the best in the series I enjoyed as the mystery is quite twisty and kept me guessing.
Lily Dale is a fascinating place and Bella is a great character, fleshed out and interesting.
I think this is a sort of new phase in the series and can't wait to read the next story.
Recommended.

The Margaret Beaufort mystery are a sort of hit or miss for me and this one was a hit as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Paul Doherty is a great writer of historical mystery and this one was gripping, twisty and highly entertaining.
The historical background is vivid and well researched as usual, the characters are fleshed out, and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
Highly recommended.

I liked all the Basil Willing mysteries I read and this the best so far. A page turner I couldn't put down featuring a very complex puzzle, a limited number of suspects and plenty of secrets.
The author did an excellent job in developing a plot that never stops surprising as each twist is unexpected.
The descriptions of the theatre environment and the atmosphere in NY at the beginning of WWII are masterful as the storytelling and the character development.
Highly recommended.

A lovely Christmas novella featuring cats, lots of cats. Cats who are secret agents that must save Christmas spirit.
I loved the cats, had a lot of fun and I think it can be appreciated by reader of any age.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3,5* rounded to 4
This is not the best book in this series and I felt a bit confused at the beginning as it took me a bit to catch up with the plot and the characters.
It's slow burning and sometimes even a bit too slow. Characters and world building are as fascinating as usual but the storytelling was a bit off.
I want to know what will happen but I wasn't a fan of this book.

Caro Ramsay never disappoints and this gritty, dark and twisty thriller was a gripping and highly entertaining read.
There's a lot going on in this book, there's plenty of secrets and hidden truths, something from the past.
The plot is solid and the twists surprised me. The characters are fleshed out, not always likeable but realistic.
I cant' wait to read the next story.
Highly recommended.
