Five stories set in the world of Stay a Spell series. It was good to catch up with couple we already met and have a peek at a new one.
It's funny, well written and I enjoyed it.
It's not the best book if you never read this series.

I wanted to read this book as I'm a fan of Golden Age mystery and the country house is often the setting of these mysteries.
I got more than I bargained as it's well researched, informative, and compelling.
It starts in the Middle Age and tells the story of how country houses evolved.
An excellent read, highly recommended.

It's a very slow burning mystery and I nearly DNFed (at about 50%) when the plot became gripping and read the rest in one setting
The characters are interesting and well developed, the historical background is realistic and fascinating, the solid mystery kept me guessing.
It's not a book I'd recommend if you want a fast paced and action packed story.

It was a pleasure to read this last book in this riveting series, an satisfying conclusione that left no loose end.
It's a sexy, engrossing and highly entertaining story, we get to meet characters from previous instalment and there's plenty of action.
Good world building, character and plot development.

It was a compelling and entertaining read, the good start for a new historical mystery series.
Even if it's set in a prison it's not dark or gritty and we get to know the characters, especially Nell who is the MC.
Frances Brody did a good job in developing the solid mystery and the characters.
The historical background is vivid and well researched as usual.
I think this will be a very interesting series, look forward to the next story.

I love this series, the story of women catch in the turmoil of history and how it affects them and their life.
There's a lot going on, war is over and there's hope for a new beginning. Not everything is fine and there're some darker moment when the book deals with issues like racism.
The characters are fleshed out and likeable as usual, the historical background is vivid, and the plot flows and kept me hooked.
Highly recommended.

It's a compelling and highly entertaining traditional mystery, full of twists and turns.
Quaint small town, quirky characters, a lot going on.
It kept me reading and guessing.

I requested this ARC by mistake as I confused an author with an other. That said it was a blessed confusion because I'm speechless and it's hard to review this book.
I know that it's wrong to start a series with the last book but I can say I loved this one and loved every moment.
Great world building and character development, a plot that flows and keeps you turning pages. The author is a master storyteller and I will go back and read the rest of the series and will surely love this book even more than I did.
Highly recommended.

First thing first: this is a weird cozy mystery as one of the pillar of the genre is "no strong language" and there's a lot of strong language (I don't care but I know that the aficionado of the genre do)
That said I had fun and think that the author could start a series as it was quite entertaining and the mystery was solid.
It's slow burning and the first part it's a long introduction to the MCs, their wedding issues, and the other characters. The second part is fast paced and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
That said I found the wedding issues part a bit boring even if I appreciated the humour and the banters.
Not the best book by this author but there's a lot of potential.

Not my first Faith Martin's book but the first in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed.
A riveting, entertaining and well written historical cozy mystery that kept me turning pages.
The winter atmosphere is magic and I liked the descriptions of the setting.
Ryder and Loveday are a couple of likeable and clever investigators, well developed and fleshed out.
The solid mystery is full of twists and kept me guessing.
Can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Highly recommended.
