It's been a long time since last I read an Ellery Queen mystery and this was the first one I read in English.
I don't remember I've ever read it before and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The puzzle is really complex and I was fascinated by the investigation and how the clues were placed together.
It's entertaining and I think it aged quite well even and it's a depiction of an era.
My only note is that the language is sometimes a bit hard to understand as the author uses a sort of phonetic transcription.
An enjoyable and intellectually challenging mystery,
Highly recommended.

I loved this series and love Jay Kristoff's works so I had high expectations for this last book in the series.
I had high expectations but somehow I felt disappointed even if the story is compelling and well written.
There was a sense of deja vue, of something already seen/read and the story fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.

This is a good retelling of the story of the Argonauts, Jason and Golden Fleece. I think that the author did a good job in his version of the myth but this is also a very complex myth full of possible interpretations and somehow it missed part of its charm.
There's action, the characters are fleshed out but the storytelling was a bit dull.
I think it's an interesting take on this very ancient myth.

This is one of the best historical true crime I've ever read. It's gripping, immersive and it made me travel in time.
The author is a talented storyteller and this well researched book was brilliant and gripping.
There're great descriptions of the historical background, the characters are well described and explained, tons of documents.
I loved what I read.
Highly recommended.

i didn't read the first book in this series but it wasn't a problem as I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
It's a compelling, fascinating and well written family saga tha kept me turning pages.
There's plenty of emotions, secrets. The characters are fleshed out and interesting, the historical background vivid.

3,5* rounded to 4
I think it's a good historical fiction and I liked the character development, the descriptions of the life on a farm and wanted to learned what happened to cause the drama.
Unfortunately it's very slow paced and my mind wandered.
Not my cup of tea but I'm surely it will be appreciated by a lot of people.

It's creepy, dark, highly entertaining and gripping. I liked Perfectly Preventable Deaths but this one is even better.
The dual POVs works well and made me love this well written story.
The characters are interesting and fleshed out, the world building is well done and the author is a very good storyteller.
Highly recommended.

EVen if this is not the best in this series it's a compelling and highly entertaining read.
There's plenty going on in Ben's life and there's a lot of twists in the solid mystery that kept me guessing.
The characters are relatable and fleshed out as usual, the setting is vivid and the mystery is well plotted.
My only note: the plot sometimes drags a bit and some less pages would have helped.
It can be read as a stand alone but it's better to read the entire series.
Recommended.

I loved this stories, snapshots of another age and of women in the past. It was a sort of travelling back in time and seeing what meant being a women.
I was expecting something funny, this is quite sad but I loved it nonetheless.
I discovered a new to me excellent author and thoroughly enjoyed this reading experience.
Highly recommended.
