Valdemar was one of the first fantasy series I read back in the 80s and it's a very long series (last count was around 60s books).
This is good introduction to the series if you ever read it and a long expected story by the fan of Valdemar.
It's not the best in the series but it was a gripping and entertaining read as Ms Lackey can surely write and she's an excellent storyteller.
My only note is that the ending is a bit abrupt and I hope that the next book in this duology/trylogy will take this into account.
It was a pleasure to travel back to Valdemar world, I hope people will discover this series and love it.
Recommended.

An interesting book, riveting and well written. The historical part is well researched and gripping, I loved Ginny and how she fought and wanted to improved.
The contemporary part is a bit weaker but I enoyed.
Vivid and well researched historical background, good character development and storytelling.

An engrossing and entertaining romantic suspense that kept me turning pages.
The romance is sweet, realistic and slow burning, the suspense part is on the backside but it was well developed.
I rooted for the characters, enjoyed the setting and had fun.

This is an excellent book if you work in L&D, I was glad to read it because it helped me to learn something more about LXD and the development of a training.
There's a lot of information and ideas.
Highly recommended.

This is a weird book, one of those book that you can love or hate. A book which is not easy to follow and sometimes left you wondering what you are reading.
I liked it even if I'm not sure I understood it. The author is a talented storyteller and the prose is exquisite.
There's a lot of magic realism, character development and a story that can be fascinating and very slow at the same time.
I recommend it if you are a fan of magic realism, weird stories and great style of writing.

I love children stories and this one was good, riveting and highly entertaining.
It's a story about injustice, how friendship can help you to overcome injustice, and it's also a lot of fun to read.
It's fast paced, well written and the characters are fleshed out.

Another gripping, highly entertaining and twisty story in this series. I read it as fast as I could and the twists surprised me.
It was good to catch up with the characters as they are currently facing some great choices and issues.
The plot flows and it kept me entertained till the end.
Can't wait to read the next book.
Highly recommended.

There're some interesting part and the author surely know what she's talking about. As a keen gardener I wanted to love this book I felt it too distant from my spiritual path and experience.
Not my cup of tea.

A story about wealth, privilege and how it was grewing up in privilege and it impacted you.
There's a lot of food for thought in this book but there's also a riveting and fascinating story.
The style of writing is excellent, the characters are well developed and the story flows keeping you reading.
It's the first book I read by this author and won't surely be the last.
Highly recommended.

The blurb sounded interesting and I wanted to love this story.
Unfortunately I found it a bit confusing, some parts were really creepy others were something out a gothic novel written a long time ago.
The language used by the characters seemed a bit weird.
Not my cup of tea.
