It's hard to review and rate this book because you know there's a lot of sorrow and the author had bigger issues than closing the series.
In any case he's a master storyteller and delivers a gripping and fascinating story, a good closure of this series.

It's time for Robin Hood retelling and those I read are so creative and exciting. This is one of the two, a bit easier and more according to the saga as we know it know.
Great storytelling and character development, an interesting world building, a gripping plot,
I had fun and can't wait to read the next book.
Highly recommended.

I liked the tv show featuring Enola Holmes and liked this story.
Note: I prefer my Holmes stories to be more canon-wise but Enola is an interesting and likeable character and I like her.
It's an entertaining and riveting story, fast paced and easy to read.
There're some disturbing descriptions of aslyum but there's also plenty of humor.

Dark, creepy and well written: a gripping story that kept me on the edge till the end.
Great character development and world building, a solid plot full of twists.

I had high expectations for this book as I love stories set in bookshops/libraries.
I was disappointed as the bookshop was just a sort of background and it seemed a sort of "I will save you" and "Love conquer all".
Max is the type of man that should make you run for the hills not boyfriend material.
Not my cup of tea.

3,5* rounded to 4
As much as I love this series I found this story a bit frustrating and it wasn't easy to warm up to Tony.
She started as a lively woman, someone who wanted to be independent, and ended being emotionally manipulated by the mother of her former fiancè and her parents.
I met some people like her and I always feel for them and hope they grow a spine.
In any case I love her character arc and I'm curious to read about the future. It was great to catch up with the other midwives and Bobby was a great characters.
Heartwarming and frustrating at the same time, recommended.

Margaret Owen's books are marketed as YA and I think this is doing a disservice to her stories as she can surely write excellent and riveting fantasy novels.
I loved the The Merciful Crow series and I love Little Thieves, a book I read in two sitting unable to put it down.
I love smart ass type of characters and I couldn't help loving Vanja, a good/bad girl who grew on me and who's complex and strong willed.
The cast of characters is well written and interesting.
The world building is excellent and I want to learn more about this fascinating universe.
I love the tongue-in-cheek style of writing, the humour and the excellent storytelling.
I can't wait to read the next story in this series.

Another gripping and highly entertaining book in this series, an excellent police procedural featuring complex and fleshed out characters.
I was hooked since the first pages and the story kept me on the edge till the end.
Secrets, faulted and damaged characters, a solid mystery full of twists and turn that kept me guessing.
Can't wait for the next story.
Highly recommended.

Elizabeth Strout can surely write fascinating story and she's able to fascinate me by telling small story, everyday fact details and creating unforgettable and unique characters.
Lucy, William are perfectly defined and you can't help feeling involved in their life, their stories and what is happening.
A master storyteller that kept me reading and loving what I was reading till the last line.
Highly recommended.

I love Jim Eldridge's historical mystery and, even this one isn't a favorite, it's a compelling and entertaining novel that kept me hooked.
I was glad to catch up with the characters and being introduced to new one, the historical background is vivid and fascinating, the solid mystery is full of twists and turns.
I thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to read the next book by this author.
