I think there's a lot of potentian and this could become a good cozy mystery series.
I liked the story but I found the characters a bit unlikeable and the mystery was quite easy to solve.
I want to read the next story.

An excellent start for a new cozy series: I thoroughly enjoyed, had fun and the plot kept me turning pages.
I loved the solid mystery that kept me guessing, the relatable and well written characters, and the lovely setting.
Can't wait to read the next book.
Highly recommended.

I was really interested in this book as my mother was born in the Italian Waldesian Valleys in the 30s and I remember what she used to tell about her Waldesian friends.
It's a well researched and balanced book, I learned a lot and liked the style of writing.
Highly recommended.

I think this was the best story so far in this excellent series.
I had a lot of fun in following Kate's investigation, her doubt about Charlotte, and the evolution of her relationship with Woody.
The plot starts with a BANG and you meet the first victim in the first chapter.
The investigations are a good depiction of life in a small village and they reminded me of Miss Marple. There's plenty of secrets, gossips, quirky characters and some very clever social remarks. The social differences play a huge role in this story and I liked how the author deals with them never being preachy but always keeping the tone light.
I read this book in one setting and the twists and the solution surprised me.
I can't wait to read the next story as I want to know what will happen in Kate's life.
Highly recommended.

I didn't read Vox but I read so many great reviews that I couldn't wait to read this book.
I had quite high expectations and I was disappointed because I found it a bit boring, with a lot of parts that seem to be written to shock more than being relavant to the plot.
The world building is interesting and well developed, the economical collapse of contemporary society and the personal crash of Miranda, the MC.
I didn't like Miranda for most of the book as I found her shallow and self-centered. I changed my view at the end of the book when there's a revelation.
I believe that women can be as bad as men, it's human nature. The utopic community, Femlandia, is a cult and it reflects all the dynamics of a cult.
I wasn't a big fan of this book even if I think there's food for thought even if there're some moments that seem a bit transphobic.
Not my cup of tea.

I wanted to read this arc as it features some of my favorite authors and I was curious about reading Christopher Fowler (I liked The Look, surely no Bryant&May) and Seanan McGuire.
It's not the first anthologies edit by Ellen Datlow I read and I can say I liked it even if not all the stories are the same level and some were more terrying than others.
It's a light book to read if you want to escape: some descriptions are quite brutal and horrorific.
It made me discover some new to me authors and appreciated other side of some I love.

I want to thank Angry Robots for reprinting this forgotten jewel and made me discover a new to me, exciting and fabolous sci-fi series.
This mix of technothriller, dystopia and sci-fi kept me reading and turning pages very fast, unable to put it down.
Great storytelling, excellent world building and a gripping plot.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Highly recommended.

A poignant, moving and riveting story, full of emotions and magic.
I like Ms Callahan's style of writing and her vivid characters and moving stories.
It's the story of how Narnia came into being and how magic of stories can improve you life.
I smile, I sniffed and loved the characters.

Even if it's not the best in this series I enjoyed this story.
I think that Charlotte is a bit underdeveloped in this novel and there are too many repetitions.
On the other side the mystery is solid and kept me guessing.
I think it's recommended to anyone who read the rest of the series.

I read other mysteries by Edward Marston but this is the first I read in this series and I'm sure I will read the others as it was a gripping and highly entertaining read.
Great character development, vivid historical background, a solid mystery that kept me guessing till the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's strongly recommended.
