the twists and turns, plus the slow burn romance made me give this 4 stars.

This was a good book. I enjoyed the puzzles but maybe not as much as the first book. I will continue this series to find out more and I'm hoping the mysteries are a little more complex.

This story had me guessing, and questioning, and wondering, and coming back for more! I really like the way the story and timelines were explained. It had a sort of hopeful, cozy, sadness about the whole thing. I really enjoyed listening to the audio book!

This was a good sequel. Still cozy and interesting, Still full of fun magic. I"m curious about the next installment. I hope there's something new and a little more exciting.
dark mysterious

I've owned this book for awhile, but since it's not my normal genre, I haven't picked it up. When the library hold for the audio came available, I thought I'd use it to keep me occupied... I could not stop listening! When I ran out of things to do, I grabbed my physical copy and read along with the last third of the book. There are twists and turns and unexpected things... I love that and love when I can not guess at the ending! I think I could re-read this and still be surprised at things. Wonderful mystery and I'm so glad I finally read it!

This was such a good story, and it was quite engaging. The beginning took me a bit to really get into the story, but once I did-I wanted to know what was going to happen next. This book was not fast-paced, danger around every corner, biting my nails... it was calm while keeping you wondering and intrigued. There was so much that can be interpreted as allegory, and yet I took it as a fantastical adventure. I'm so glad I finally read this book.

It took me longer than I thought to read this, but it was a very good book! There was a lot of information in this book, to include who the characters were at present, who they were in the past, and who they were in between... I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. Since they were gods, I expected more mature behaviors, and yet the typical teen stuff came out too and that made for an interesting dynamic in each of the characters and how they related to one another. The ending was NOT expected, and that made me very happy. I can not wait to find out what happens in the next book.

I don’t know what it is about this series but every book just makes me feel so good. I’d definitely call these comfort reads. I was so sad when I turned the last page and realized it was done! I love the relationships. I kinda think Nick and Charlie are more mature in their relationship than some adults… lol
emotional hopeful reflective sad tense

I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much reading a book. The way the story was written was perfect. I loved the style. The story was so incredibly sad, yet I found myself laughing and hopeful despite the heaviness. I almost couldn’t bring myself to read the last section because of the sadness, but I’m so glad I did.

This was really good. There were so many surprising and uncomfortable parts to the story, but they were told realistically. I enjoyed listening to the authors story through her own voice too.
