I read this book with Wick and Jane Bookclub! I loved getting to know all the characters. The timeline went back and forth through the story and it helped me to know the characters more deeply. I loved that and it wasn’t confusing at all. The only thing I did not like was that some things were repeated in the story-such as explanations of who gerulae were and someone’s thoughts (same thoughts/words over and over). I can look past those negatives though since In real life we tend to repeat ourselves. I’m excited to read the second book!

Different from the first book. I enjoyed this and getting to know Lila in another way-through her magic. I’m excited to find out more about her in book three. Also, I enjoyed the tournament story line. It was interesting and captivating. Kell is still wonderful but more broody, and that’s ok.

This was a fast read, and not what I expected! The story is told from the POV of two MC’s who are very different from each other. Tova is a girl out of place in her world and Halvard is a young man forced into Leadership before he feels prepared. Both MCs are fierce and strong in their own ways, and both make hard choices for themselves and their people. I really enjoyed the magical mysticism of Tova! The Viking lore was so surreal. This was a beautiful book and I was so happy to be back in this world that Adrienne created. Sky in the Deep was amazing, and this book set in the same world was wonderful as well!

Good story with strong MCs. I enjoyed the magic and getting to know the world of the sorority and how it all worked together. The mystery was intriguing and I kinda guessed at the result, but was still pleasantly surprised.

This story was informing while being engaging. I was excited to get into this book, while not really knowing anything about it. The reality of the situations was heart breaking and knowing this is fiction doesn’t hide the fact that this is real in many communities. Such a wonderful book.

I really really liked this book! It was not on my radar at all, but thanks to W&J Bookclub I read it! This is a strong character and even though I didn’t totally connect, I enjoyed getting to know her. I did guess at a few things, but nothing was too predictable to make the story boring. There was just enough balance between the relationships and the action to make me interested, and I’m excited to see where it all goes in the next book!

I enjoyed this very much! It was short but didn’t lack in anything. This world and the characters and the magic... it was wonderful and I look forward to visiting again in the next books.

I listened to this book and the experience was good. I enjoyed the continuation of Fable’s story, but didn’t enjoy the new characters very much. The “mission” that Fable went on seemed to have her making a deal with every other person she talked to, and it got a little annoying. I did enjoy the book as a whole.

I was so intrigued throughout this book. I felt like I was getting to know Ronan and his dream-magic on a deeper level. I am so glad all the Lynch brothers are prominent in this book. I really like Hennessy and Jordan also.

This is my 2nd 5 star book of 2021. I devoured it in two days. I love Fable and her strength and resilience. West was cunning and smart. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and it was a found family trope which is my favorite. I pray namesake is just as good!
