Most fun I’ve had reading a book is a while, the plot is amazing, the world is so interesting. I finished the book and was immediately ready to jump into the sequel.

The only reason this isn’t getting a 4.5 or a 5 is because I can NOT get over the cringey bits. Why do they say “fuck” so much? I’m certain places it’s tasteful and I’m like “ok yeah cool,” but in a LOT of places it just did not work and I got ripped out of being immersed in the story and the cringe was unbearable. Overall though, well-written characters, loved it so much, just can’t get over the cringe. New favorite regardless.

It was good, and I enjoyed reading it. It felt like something was missing, idk. Plus it was a wee bit cringe here and there, but overall wholesome and nice. I didn’t cry like I expected to. Good first romance reading experience though, I’ll definitely be reading more romance in the future. 

Unsettling. SO much mystery and suspense. I would definitely recommend. The reader's knowledge of the world/setting is limited by the perspective and knowledge of the main character, leaving so many questions to be had and unanswered. Looking forward to continuing the series and hopefully unraveling the mystery of Area X and the Southern Reach.
