I hate to call a book boring but that's literally my only thought on this. The only reason why I was able to make it through over half of it was because I had nothing else to do at the time. This just wasn't for me at all.
Moderate: Child death, Death, Torture, Grief, Murder
Not my kind of horror. Disturbing in a not-fun way. Also it's kind of a pet peeve of mine when there are anthro characters but then there are normal animals too?? Idk I didn't read that far, it's just not for me.
Graphic: Animal death, Body horror, Gore, Blood, Murder
Soft DNF. I swear I'll come back to this, because I see potential, I just don't have the patience for it right now. Nothing against the book at all, it's just me, I'm in the mood for something more fast paced!
Moderate: Animal cruelty
For me, this is too slow paced, and I don't like the main character that much. I only read 28 pages but I can just tell that I probably won't enjoy this.
Minor: Death
Nothin wrong with this, I'm just not in the mood for it right now. I'll come back to it eventually!
I lost interest for the time being, I will give this a chance next time I'm in more of a literary/general fiction mood.
The plot felt like it was rushing so I didn't think I'd be able to properly get invested in it. It also felt like a combination of sci-fi, fantasy, and YA, when I expected it to only be a sci-fi book. This just wasn't for me.
Thanks, I hate it!
The author claims that he didn't intentionally write the main character to be autistic but I think he's just trying to avoid being held accountable for writing an autistic character without doing proper research. Only 10 pages in and it's a whole mess of autism stereotypes.
Implied-autism and autistic coded characters aren't inherently bad. I just think this book in particular is poorly written, as far as I read.

I'll probably come back to this but right now I just can't handle the writing style
