The Solar War

A.G. Riddle

DID NOT FINISH

Slow, boring, lost the magic of the first

Meh, was hoping this was the end of the series and so the story would have moved much farther but oh well, still a fun ride

I like this one the best!

Meh

Not a fan of the types of sci-fi that involves tons of names. Was happy with the main battle but felt a little unsatisfied with the final end of the Others (maybe I just forgot about it? Idk)

Meh

Very interesting, very fun. I got a little confused between the Bobs and timelines but that might have been because I was listening to the audiobook rather than reading. The narrator of the audiobook is fantastic though!! The space stuff got a little dense but interesting enough that I never considered dnf-ing

Really thought provoking and well done!! Also note I listened to the audiobook and I think others who did too liked it more than those who read the book themselves.

I don’t know if it’s because I accidentally read something in the reviews I glanced at before reading, but I thought the beginning was super obvious so the pacing was annoying. I ended up reading a summary to better set expectations and kept going. The third act somehow wasn’t spoiled but regardless the journey was so crazy that even being spoiled wouldn’t be that bad I think.

Very clever, interesting, and with real tension and just kept getting better

4.9* rounded to 5

So freaking good!! So much tension and it felt like actual stakes for the first time (aka consequences, like people actually dying)

The final chapter?? Chefs kiss (also an example of finally following through on set-ups). And the epilogue has me so ready for the next one (which isn’t out for another 2 months 😩)

Favourite out of the series, tied with the first one
