TW: blood, a very graphic scene of removing forign object from body, physical and mental abuse, alcaholic parent,

sexual abuse of a child

A lot more than one generic mystery, this is an awesome mix of attempted murder, a strange town, family secrets, and the monster Mr. Jitters to top it all off.

TW: homophobia, slurs, underage drinking and drugs, slut shaming, explicit talk of sex, panic attacks, anxiety, blackmail, stalking, emotional abuse, preditory behavior, brief mention of brief thought of suicide

Amazing. Sex positivity with real world advice that is soooo important for everyone to know. A well done mystery and social commentary wrap this up into a great read.

TW: police violance and rule, death, infidelity, torture and mind break

Focusing more on the dystopian loss of this world's memories and items, rather than the logic of how they disapear. A serreal read.

TW: re-living death of a child, misgendering

The second in Neon Yang's fantasy series, building off the world and characters from the first book. This time we follow Akeha's sister Mokoya. Excellent LGBTQ+ and poly rep!

TW: death, blood, gorey murder scene, mentions of cannibalism, unwanted sexual advances, occultism

A really fun and suspenseful read, with birds, curses, death, intertwining fates and of course, a mysterious house that will be the death of them.

TW: underage drinking, sex, parental abandonment

My gays - y'all are SLEEPING on this book! It's everything done right! Queer romance, enemies to lovers, only one bed(!), mystery plot, and packed full of laugh out loud sarcasm and humor. And FINALLY a Maori protagonist! Seeing a book in an NZ setting gives me allllllll the happiest feels. I am in love!

TW: child abuse, sex between children, sexual abuse, pedophilia, murder, so much blood, cannibalism, infidelity

Woooww...seriously.. . This is a dark, twisted and very unhindered book. The themes are soo good, especially the talk of 'the Factory', but booyoo do I need a century to recover...

TW: depression, homophobia, internalised homophobia, slurs, suicidal thoughts, attempted suicide, self harm, death, vomiting, non-consensual use of body for sex

A raw, rough and personal memior. Shaun's writing is brilliant, and discribes his inner most thoughts in such a way that is easy to interprete and feel.

TW: racial and homophobic slurs, racism, microaggressions, violance, sex, deadnaming and misgendering, death

I love the mixture of memior/manifesto, and I don't know if I've highlighted a book this much in years. George's story is a brave call to action that everyone needs to answer.

CW: mother relationship, death, cancer, detailed treatment and loss of body function, infidelity

Amazing and vulnerable. Tough for me as I'm astranged from my mother - I had to take many breaks as it brought back a lot of pain. So good, just hard with my own baggage.
