TW: homophobic labels towards gay men, references to cultural artifacts "collected" by British military men
Picked this up on a whim. It was a perfectly fine gentle mystery with some very genuine laugh out loud moments. Didn't take a lot to figure out the culprit though and the humour really did end after the first few chapters.

This is marketed as a mix between "Way of the Househusband" and "A Man and His Cat" and I have to say that's an apt description! Though A bit less emotional than aMaHC, it still shares similar achingly adorable imagery, and similar zaney 'everyday antics turned ridiculous' like WotHH.
Honestly, it's just whole-hearted and fluffy and cute and sweet and all the things we need in the world right now. Pen-chan has cured my depression, cleared my skin, resolved my childhood traumas and holds a most precious place in my heart.

TW: graphic depictions of rape and abuse, pedophilia, murder, police brutality, racism and racist slurs, parental abandonment, suicide, suicide ideation, death of children/baby
Devoured this in one sitting. Veronica opens her life to us and her experiences working as a police officer in a system that is racist and abusive. This is her cry for justice and abolishion.

TW: racism, outdated terms and slurs, colonisation
A great bite-size version of Dark Emu, and both absolutly required reading if you are in any way looking to educate yourself on world history, especially Australia's true history.

TW: racism, ableism, physical abuse, ptsd, graphic body dismemberment
It's hard to write an unlikeable protagonist, and Lee does so in a great way that let's one see the characters development arc. Great disability and bi rep.

TW: death, some toxic masculinity
Reading this gave me serious "The Sandlot" film vibes. Humerus and sometimes silly incidents that often weaved into more heartfelt and sometimes emotionally stirring moments.

TW: G slur for Romani people, P slur for gay men, infidelity, parental abandonment, stalking by side character
What an unfortunately boring cover to go with a incredibly beautifully illustrated and designed book!
Very much like a Lemony Snicket novel, with humour and an odd but vaugly possible, if not still utterly ridiculous plot device. You second guess yourself on the protagonist's mission, is it real? In his head? And by gosh can more books have fun symbols in the margins please?

This collection of comic strips by Steenz flew me back to my days as a goofy 11 year old. This would have been just the sort of comic strip I would have read and re-read over and over again. Delightful humour and a charming drawing style, I felt instant nostalgia reading this! I loved it, and hope to see a sequel soon!

A fun little re-visit to Monty and Percy's relationship between the first two books of this series. Another frustrating misunderstanding between the two, but good resolution & character insights.
