This book is absolutely heartbreaking and devastating. I hate the justice system and Hanah is public enemy number one, I hate her so much. This was so well written and it made me genuinely cry throughout it. It talks so honestly and openly about the struggles people, women in particular, face in abusive relationships and how they are so limited in their options. Its upsetting to read about all Nikki went through and how she is criticized, mocked, and not believed. I wish that the world wasn’t like this and that Nikki got the justice, love, and care she deserved. She had supporters, family, and friends and still went through what she did. It makes me think of all the women who don’t have support and what they go through everyday. 

I think this book did a great job showing how people live with depression in everyday life. It shows that recovery isn’t linear and that some days will be worse than other but that doesn’t mean you aren’t getting better. It does a good job being realistic about living with depression but showing their are options to help you, such as therapy or medication or even small things such as changing daily habits to make your life more enjoyable. I highly recommend.

This wasn’t really bad, I just found it boring. I didn’t think the story was that interesting and I didn’t really like the writing. I didn’t really enjoy reading about the author being a republican for most of his life even though he isn’t one now. Nothing really happened throughout the book that made for an interesting plot.

I am a Halsey fan first and foremost. I love their music and this poetry book is so good. It covers so many different topics beautifully and  each poem is so well done. It’s probably my favorite poetry book.

This was so good! There so many queer characters who are unapologetically themselves and who support the others around them. There is bisexual, lesbian, gay, nonbinary/trans, and poly representation. It was everywhere and I was obsessed with it. I also love the development of the main characters. Theo and Kit both grow before the book starts and during the book. I relate to Theo so much. I loved reading about their journey and their struggles and how they overcame them. It was a beautifully read, as long as you can get over the French being there all the time. 

This book just isn’t for me. It was bad by any means. The poems were well written and researched. It’s just no my cup of tea personally. I don’t really like or read poetry about romantic love. I also am not really interested in biology/ecology which is how all the metaphors were written and were a big chunk of the book. I would recommend it if that’s stuff that interests you, but it wasn’t for me.

I loved reading this. It showed the struggles of what people go through after college and establishing themselves in the world with their career and social life. I thought that Charlie’s journey of healing was very realistically done and shows that you can’t just recovering from abusive relationships over night. It also shows that often, you could get stuck in the same cycle with someone else because it’s what you know. I loved that Reese was patient and understanding with Charlie when Charlie struggled. (We love a king who goes to therapy.) I also loved all the different types of queer representation shown in the book casually. I love that books are now just having queer people are main and side characters casually and without making it a big deal that they are happy and proud of who they are.

I love Twilight! It’s my favorite movie and it was so fun to read the book and see the differences and similarities between the two. I basically have the movie memorized, so I was able to easily point out the differences and similarities. It was so fun to see Edward and Bella have personalities. (I will defend movie Bella and Edward until I die though.) I think overall the movie did a really good job taking what the book gave them. It is a silly fun read and I’m obsessed.

I love this book. Christian is my ideal man. (If you ignore the murder and other various crimes.) I love how obsessed he is with Gianna and how he takes care of her. I also love Gianna’s character and how she is flawed but still strong and confident. My favorite little part of the book is when Gianna shows Christian her new manicure and he is genuinely interested. It’s just all the little things he does that makes me obsessed. 

This was so fun. I loved the mix of seriousness and playfulness. It really shows how one can grow to just accept happiness and how things are over time. I loved all the poems, but in particular my favorites were “Be st Fri ends” and “Good for Her.”
