This is such a good read. I love the characters and how the main couple brings out the best in each other. The author also does such a great job talking about multiple types of grief. It discusses romantic, platonic, and familial grief. It shows how its a complex topic and that you aren’t just healed one day and how you can continue living your life while still living with the grief. I also loved the main demiseuxal representation. There were other queer characters in smaller roles too, such as lesbians and nonbinary people. Even if the main couple is “straight,” it’s nice to see causal representation throughout the side characters.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to watch the downfall of the rich, but this story was not very compelling. The two main characters’ main reason for being on the yacht was to take down the owner, but they did nothing to get revenge. They just stood there and listened the entire time. It was more of they were at the right place at the right time to watch his downfall. They played no part at all. Everything was given to them and they didn’t solve of any of the mystery. It was just revealed to them over time. Also, the main issue was about Bitcoin and honestly it was weird to read about cryptocurrency. 

This is such a good read. This is my second Lily Gold book and honestly I’m obsessed with her writing. She does such a good job creating the personalities of the characters and making them all distinctive individuals. In particular, I love this book. I think Briar is such a well done nuanced character and each of the men complement her in their own unique ways. The author also does a great job talking about PTSD and recovering from traumatic events. I genuinely cried at the end of the book.

This was a very educational read. It talks about the history of looting and puts a lot of major historical events into a different perspective that isn’t taught in schools. I definitely recommend reading this as it is a thorough read.

There is a lot of talk and details about the science in this book which was interesting to read about. I think the couple is cute together, but their relationship really wasn’t that developed. They knew each other for a few weeks and decided that they were in love with each other which was a bit out of left field. I do think that over time of they would be a wonderful couple and I am rooting for them, it just felt rushed in the book.

This was a fun easy read. It introduces you to a bunch of queer icons. It is not very in depth, just brief overviews. So if you are looking for a deep dive this isn’t the book for you. But, if you are looking for a book with inspiring queer people and a starting ground for people to read more into this is a great book.

I love Vincent Van Gogh. It was very interesting to read about his life through the view of his letters with Theo. It was nice to learn about how Theo took care of Vincent through his mental illness instead of letting him fend for himself. Both of the boys definitely fell in love way too easily (which is honestly relatable). I felt like every other chapter they were in love with new girls. It was a nice read and I would recommend it if you also love Vincent Van Gogh

I didn’t really like this book. It was okay, I guess. I definitely preferred the first half more. I thought those stories were interesting and I liked them. I stopped being interested when it got to Rithy’s story. I did not like how him and the monk jerked off the a photo of Rithy’s girlfriend and came on the photo together? For like no reason? And without his girlfriend knowing? Super weird. After that story, I didn’t think the rest of them were that interesting. My favorite story was The Shop.

This was amazingly well written. It is heartbreaking to read about what she went through. Her discussion on how woman in the spotlight are treated very different than the men is very well done. It shows that even the smallest things make a difference in how women and men are viewed and treated. I hope that she recovers and lives her happiest life here on out. 

I’m honestly devastated that Bernie did not win the election. He does such a great way with words and is able to get his point across clearly. It says everything in a sort of matter of fact way that makes the topics he talks about even more serious (which they already are). I wish that he was able to actually put his ideas into action and that capitalism didn’t exist. I hate it here.
