An excellent read. I was familiar with the atrocities of the Residential Schools - but I had never read a tale from the point of view of someone who lived through them. Eye opening to say the least. Every white person needs to read this book.
Excellent, quick read with lovely illustrations by the brilliant Chris Riddell. Each part struck a different chord, and inspired something different in me. I had this out on loan from the library, but now need to own a copy so I can be inspired by it whenever I need an energizing few moments.
Like all the Kristi Charish books, I enjoyed this one immensely.
While fun, the pace seemed too fast or inconsistent? How long was she there for? A week? Before she thought she was in love? There wasn't a lot of mention of how much time had passed in parts of the story either, so I kept assuming it had only been days or the next day. So... They fell madly in love in less than a month? In Regency(?) England?
Also, his name is Micah. How hard is it to call him that? It bothered me ALOT that she kept calling him Mike.
