This book should be read out loud to children, and often. This sweet tale of Flora (a self-identified cynic) and her squirrel friend Ulysses (who writes poetry, flies and is super strong thanks to an unforeseen encounter with a very strong Hoover) reminds us all that having a large heart full of hope and friends we can rely on are essential to life.

The middle book in this dystopian trilogy, Through the Ever Night, was definitely my favorite. Probably because Roar was such a big part of it and he's just a fantastic character.

The series overall gets 4 stars from me. Highly recommend.
