So the Patchwork Girl is kind of awful. The character, specifically, but also the book. I get that it's written for children, but it's so basic and so crudely written. You can tell that Baum was tired of the series.

I've wanted to learn more about Tupac since reading #TheHateUGive by #AngieThomas. I didn't realize this book was 20 years old when I chose it, but it was interesting.

I do feel that this wasn't much of a biography, though. More of research paper of how Tupac impacted others. Still, I enjoyed the learning because it seems very well researched. I'm definitely going to find another book about Tupac in the future, though, to listen and learn more about him. For now, though, I'm going to listen to his music.

Note for those wanting to listen:
I read the audiobook and the writer quotes a lot of people. I mean, a lot a lot. And every time there's is a quote, even if it's a single word, the narrator is forced to say "quote" and "unquote" and it gets rather annoying. Be aware going in. Looking at the reviews of the book on audible, most of the reviews mention it.

This book was so cute! And as my best friend is from New Jersey, I loved the random references (mostly at the beginning) and enjoyed sharing them with her.

I'm excited that I've already got the next books, because I'm looking forward to Kiran's next adventures.

I didn't really have any specific expectations with this book beyond the cover being cool and it including magic, based on the title. But this was delightful!!

And without being overly spoilery, are the Old Ones supposed to be modeled after Lovecraft's creatures? Because there was definitely a moment there that seemed to heavily imply Lovecraft with it's descriptions.

This was a new and interesting insight into a singer that regularly keep on my playlists.

This was a fascinating short made all the better by Neil Gaiman's voice! I will say I was very confused when I first saw the title, then saw the author was NOT Neil, but then that the narrator WAS Neil. So confused.

I wish I had this book when I was first realizing that I wasn't broken. I wish this book has existed when I was a teenager and so confused. but mostly I'm just glad this exists now.

I was expecting something more "Journey to the Center of the Earth" than what I got, but it was still a nice story.

There is so much information included in this book for kids. Neil touches on so many topics outside of just astrophysics including many social issues. But not in such a heavy-handed way that people who disagree with him will likely have much of an issue, just enough that the kids reading this will likely pause, take note, and continue on until presented with the issue again at which point they'll already have some insight.

As for the sciencey bits, I'll be recommending this to all the science-minded kidlets I know because this is just a great little book to introduce them to the concepts of astrophysics. It's that starting point that sets them off on their own educational adventures. After all, we know that you learn more readily when it's something that interests you!

While I definitely loved the entire production, this was not really a book. I'm not sure if they used clips from standup shows or brought everyone together strictly for these recordings, but it sounds like live recordings at comedy shows bookended by some bits of narration. Definitely enjoyable.
