This story was delightful! I loved the conversational feel off everything. It's all a conversation, it's just directed at you as the main character. I would be interested in exploring this world further!
Uh, sooo... I feel like one of the characters in this book needs a lesson on consent. But I'm also curious about what happened to the world as a whole.
This was a disturbing middle of the night read. I was confused in the beginning, but then I was just sucked into the idea of an AI that brought itself to consciousness. Which seems to be what happened. I love it. Max is intriguing, to say the least., and that ending... Damn.
But I especially love the inclusivity of the story, the acknowledgement of different gender identities, and the preference for they/them pronouns as a valid choice.

This was a fascinating look into the end of our world, how our scientists react, and what they will do to ensure humanity and our earth's living things will survive in the face of the destruction of our planet.
This was delightfully written and so enjoyable to read. And so unique. I sometimes forget just how much I love reading Neil Gaiman's works until I read another one. Eventually I'll read all of his books, but the slow trek through his backlog makes me happy.
This book was fantastic! There's a side character (probably a main character in future books) that appears to be intersex and I was both caught by surprise and delighted!! I won't say who because spoilers, but when I read this I was damn near giddy:
I love this era of being able to read inclusive fiction and I'm so thrilled that not only is it inclusive but it was literally sent to me by a subscription company that decided inclusion was the way to go.
And if it had come to it, I could have dressed in women’s clothes and tried to get to you that way. Though I am glad it did not. I feel false in women’s clothing. It is like wearing a lie.

This book was fantastic! I've had so much going on that I haven't been devoting much time to reading, so it's taken a while to finish this one, which sucks because it's amazing! If you read and enjoyed Fablehaven, you'll love this sequel series! I know I did!!
Absolutely loved this book and immediately started the third one. Yay extended family characters!!
