My full review is here on my personal website. I'll post my conclusion here, though:

4.0 out of 5.0 stars

Okay, maybe I'm losing my mind, but Yana and Sean's relationship seems to work a little better in the book, but they also go a little out-of-character. That's why it lost a whole point. There's no explanation for the change in their characters, it's just suddenly and subtly different.

The very worst thing about this book is the unexplained changes in the characters.

The very best thing about this book is a tie between Petaybee (the planet) and the loose ends being mostly tied up.

I have no words for how amazing this series is!!

This book has been on my to read list for a while. With the Netflix series of and getting so many positive reviews, I finally shoved this book to the front of my list.

Wow. Just... powerful. I am going to need some processing time for this one.

I had a few issues reading this book - mostly the tone of "shallow child who thinks she's deep" that never really goes away and some oddly stilted dialogue.

However, I still enjoyed the book, thought it was well done, and it was a fascinating insight into an American teenager's experience as a Muslim. Although I would love to hear from others about it's accuracy.

I finally started reading this because I was reminded that the Starz TV show was about to start.

I know I've said it before about so many books, but I cannot believe I put this book off for so long! o_O I'm just dead! This book was fantastic and wonderful and vile and horrible and incredible and just so much yes all at once!

While I definitely enjoyed the book (especially the name reveals at the very end - holy crap how did I miss that possibility!), I found myself constantly being pulled out of the story by various references. I had the same issue with [b:The Magicians|6101718|The Magicians (The Magicians #1)|Lev Grossman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1313772941s/6101718.jpg|6278977], so I should have been prepared, but it made it so difficult to just immerse myself in the story. It also meant that outside distractions were able to sneak in and take hold to the point that it took me weeks to finish this book! But it was worth it.

The pacing also seemed oddly fast at times with a lot of potential needed detail left out. The very best example would be a massive spoiler, so I will not include it.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I'll continue reading the series and, hopefully, continue to enjoy them, but I'll be taking me time.

Holy fuck that was a good book. I did not expect to enjoy it at all let alone as much as I did!

Even better, it was well edited and had a believable story-line - which isn't really common in freebie erotica.

An amusing pictureless picture book for children to "trick" them into reading. Not worth buying, but I got it for free.

What the hell? I expected that this book would at least reference in elementary manner that it's okay to be mad, but not okay to lash out. All this book did was say "every one gets mad and then everyone gets happy." I was really disappointed because I was hoping to have something to share with my nephew to assist in working on his behavior when he gets mad.

There were a couple editing errors and some pacing issues that bothered me, but I could not put this book down! I love the story and I'm glad I impulse bought this series! 😹
