The very worst thing about this book is it’s length. Granted, it’s only a few fairy tales, but I was hoping for something longer. Anything to keept me in the world of magic that Rowling created.

The very best thing about this book is how entertaining and interesting the stories are to even those who haven’t read the Harry Potter books. If you haven’t already read these stories, pick up a copy of the book and get started. You’ll hold on to this for when you have kids and they ask for a bedtime story.

Cute drabble featuring two of our favorite Marauders!

The very worst thing about this book is Gilderoy Lockhart. I do not like him. At all. I do, however, like that Rowling had Hermione act like a typical girl and go a little nuts for him. It made it more believable. Of course, that’s why this book is so great, though!

The very best thing about this book is how easy it would be to believe all of this! Oh, and the introduction of the word “mudblood” is just too funny. And Ron’s poor wand! :-D I love these books!

The very worst thing about this book is… Ummm. Well, this is embarassing. I missed Voldemort… Kind of… O_o

The very best thing about this book is the introduction of new amazing characters! Remus, Sirius, and Crookshanks – wolf, dog, cat – I love cats! I also love the idea of the Time-Turner. It’s an interesting twist to the story and a neat idea about time-travel in general.

Delightful, as always.

The very worst thing about this book is Sirius’ death. I cried like a baby when I first realized he wouldn’t be coming back – not even as a ghost.

The very best thing about this book is Umbridge. Wait. WHAT! Yes, Dolores Umbridge is the best thing about this book. She plays her part perfectly. She’s evil and horrible and awful and she’s convinced that she’s working for the good. At least, that’s what she tried to convince us. ;-) Honestly, I think she’s my favorite lesser, bad character. Did that make sense?

The very worst thing about this book is a toss up between Fred’s death and Snapes’s death. I couldn’t read for almost half an hour because I was crying so hard when Fred died. I know, I’m a crybaby, but I loved Fred and George and their banter. “But we’re not stupid — we know we’re called Gred and Forge.” :-) As for Snape’s death… I cried and cried and then cried even harder when we saw his memories. I still cry at those scenes no matter how many times I read them. Good job, Mrs. Rowling, on the writing. You are a true master.

The very best thing about this book is Snape, Snape, Snape, Snape, Snape, Snape, Snape!!!! I can’t say it enough! SNAPE! If any character Rowling has ever written is to survive time, let it be Severus Snape!! Please, let it be Severus Snape! </end fan-girl-sounding cheer>

In theory I risked ruining the movie for myself, but in reality I just made myself that much more eager to see it!!
