Finally got around to reading this one (it was a @booksparks pick for #frc2019 back in the fall!) and really enjoyed it — it’s a story set in rural Kentucky in the early 1900s, following a pack of brave and badass women who become packhorse librarians, delivering books to people all over the area. It has tension and drama, fierce female characters, and a good dose history I knew little about. Reminiscent of To Kill a Mockingbird in parts, too, I thought!

This one was EVERYTHING I needed it to be— a love story that is just begging to be made into a movie, totally predictable and completely charming anyway, with some slight Me Before You + Grey’s Anatomy vibes. It was the perfect front porch read today!

Thanks to @randomhouse for sending me this one! // Couldn’t go to bed tonight without knowing who the killer was — this one did NOT play out how I anticipated and while it felt a little too drawn out and slow overall, the ending had me freaking out! Definitely need to go back to reading light and happy things after this one.

Oh... this book.

This book could have been humorous and honest and helpful... but instead it felt snarky and shallow and not at all polite like an etiquette book ought to be. I read a Goodreads review of this one that said it felt like a tipsy girl at a bar shouting over the noise, “And you know what ELSE I hate about the internet?!” and that feels SPOT ON.

This was a random library grab from a WHILE ago that I probably never would have gotten to otherwise! It took a while to get interesting but the second half was fun and quirky and enjoyable. Some sliiiiight Younger vibes (a late 30s journalist who can’t get a job and finally lands a spot at a strangely vague and elusive trendy tech biz), and an endearing cast of characters, and a well-crafted ending here.

This one was SUCH a fun afternoon read — two verrrrry different authors end up at next door beach houses while writing books and they challenge each other to write in the other’s preferred genre... it was so charming and enjoyable and full of bookish talk, and also had more depth than I expected, which I appreciated! Truuuuuly loved this one.

I looooooved this book. Like, could not put it down, was so enamored with the poetic writing and the way the story evolved and how scents and senses wove throughout it all. It reminded me a little of Crawdads, mixed with a bit of The Great Alone... so good.

Thanks to @randomhouse for this one!! // Girlfriend can PREACH. This book is fiery and unfiltered and inspiring in the unique way that is so wholly and wonderfully @glennondoyle. It reminded me to let my inner wild out, to be fully and freely me, to not let shoulds or standards or patriarchy get the best of me. This one will give you a kick in the booty for sure!

This book was... not good? I’m baffled by the Reese pick here, as it felt verrrrrry slow and uninteresting and far too long and uneventful. Not a fan.
