So, basically it's Jurassic park with dragons but clearly written by Matthew Reilly. It’s mostly ridiculous and over the top action scenes but if you like Reilly’s other books you’ll like this too. This wasn’t anything life changing but I had a great time while reading it and really that’s all I could ask for!

This was such a wonderful surprise! I’ve been slowly going into a reading slump over the past few days but this was the perfect pick me up! I loved Ari and Russel and I even teared up a few times. This was a great way to kick off the Hoemance book club for 2022!

A must-read for all Australians but, I also recommend this for other readers too. Stan Grant is a very clear writer and a wonderful narrator. I highly recommend this!

Ever wanted to fuck a fish? This is the book for you!
update
Honestly, this book was wild and not at all what I was expecting. It's a deep dive into loneliness, depression and just general life exhaustion as well as sex addiction, with the addition of a literal mer-man. I think, if you can handle a little bit of weirdness, this book really is good. It has some really interesting and poignant discussions about mental health and family that I really appreciated, and from multiple angles and points of view as the main character attends a group throughout the book with different people all dealing with variations of the same issue.
Yeah, this was a truly weird ride because she legitimately fucks a fish-man, but if you can put that to one side for a moment, this truly is a great book and it turns out the fish-man you met along the way was actually a really well-written metaphor used to execute a difficult subject matter and a brilliant ending.

It’s amazing the difference reading a book set somewhere familiar to you can make to the reading experience! I actually knew what the characters were talking about and it was such a relief to actually be on the same page as them!

I love this book, it's quick, familiar and full of nostalgia.
I'm sick at the moment and don't seem to be able to stick to one book and this made me feel soo much better. Henry Hoey Hobson is set in the city I live in, this is a very rare occurrence. I love that about this book because I can picture, really well, what places are meant to look like, unlike most novels which are set in the US or the UK. Some of the novel actually takes place just down the road from where I live so that's super cool.
I read Henry Hoey Hobson when the year it came out. I read it once and then I read it nonstop for a month or two, I went slightly crazy. I haven't had the chance to read it since and that's okay because there are a lot of books waiting out there for me to read, so maybe it's a good thing I was in a bit of a slump.
I love this book now and I loved it when I was younger, it's a great book for people of all ages.

Was this necessary? No. Was this still fun? Yes.
I honestly just think Jack West Jr needs a nap and for people to stop kidnapping the poor guy.

Short and sweet! I really enjoyed seeing Jack when he was a little bit younger and seeing Max again! This was the perfect before bed read!

That ending! Just like the last book, this wasn’t my favourite in the series but I did still really enjoy it. I’m pretty sure I’ll have finished this entire series by the end of the week and I’m very excited about it!
